In general we delivery above average products in a quarter the time that our competitors are capable of. If you are just average at the job you won’t make it in my shop which is part of why our compensation is a significant percentage above average. Unionizing would mean a 30% pay cut (I’d lose my home at that rate) and half the benefit coverage for me. Maybe it’s their way of keeping the union out (the printer union is notoriously difficult to deal with) but I’ll happily reap the benefits of that arrangement.

Well it’s been 25 years and things have consistently gotten better since I was hired.

But what if my non union shop has better wages, pay increases, benefits and PTO than comparable positions in union shops? I know that unions are a good thing but I’m not in a position where I would benefit from one.

Yeah, as a Canadian I’m pretty glad I don’t live south of the border. Things are a little better up here but the cost of living to income ratio is worse so the US does have that going for them.

Alcohol laws fall under provincial control. The rest is because he’s holding a grudge for us not electing him as mayor. He’s only happy when Toronto isn’t.

That’s not the mayor of Toronto, that’s the premier of the province of Ontario. His younger brother was the crackhead mayor of Toronto.

So because it is selling well and had the best launch ever for a console, the over inflated software and hardware prices, sparse software lineup and dropping support for the switch 1 are no longer valid points? Everyone keeps supporting the one point I didn’t (and won’t) criticize while refusing to discuss the very honest points I do bring up. It’s the same post launch issues they’ve have every generation since the n64 and the best anyone can say is “it sold well”. Yes, it sold well, what about everything else about the system?

Definitely not the case here in Canada

I didn’t say its selling poorly but I feel the points I made are pretty valid. In terms of units sold, it’s done very well but it’s not selling as well as predicted and they have cut production for this quarter by a 30%.

I don’t doubt that the switch 2 is going to be a great platform. I’ve owned everything they’ve released and loved all of them except for the virtual boy. I’ll even defend the greatness of the Wii U.
The switch 2 might be the first one I skip, they’ve priced me out of owning it at this point. MSRP on tears of the kingdom is $115 Canadian which is insane. I would be unlikely to buy two games for that much, never mind a single game.
It’s insane that the pc is easily the most affordable gaming platform at this point but I’m not going to pay $130 after tax for a game when I can get equally good games for $40.

Watching Nintendo fumble console launches (sometimes whole generations) is one of the few constants in my life for the last 30 years. Dropping first party support for previous gens within 12 months, nothing compelling on the next gen for 18-24 months and now, egregious pricing for hardware and software. You’d think they’d learn what not to do, especially after doing it a half dozen times.

I haven’t done 100% on any of those, I burned out on them around the 90% mark. All three games are great, you should play them.

They didn’t just change the existing game. At the time, resident evil 2 was almost finished and, based on the screenwriters feedback, they scrapped the whole game and started over. Apparently you can get a leaked build of the original game, usually called resident evil 1.5 but it’s not very good.

2nd floor, serious injury is more likely than death if you have an ok landing. It’s the bullet holes in the head that are the likely cause of death.
- Comment on What next, power supply shortages? 6 months ago:
It did but the inflated prices stayed because enough people were willing to pay them. If people don’t abstain from buying ram and storage for the next 18 months then those prices will stay where they are too.
