- Comment on why can't there be a soda dispenser for energy drinks? 4 weeks ago:
I’ve had postmix based soda in the Netherlands, so that’s not true. Ingredients are not held to the same standards as premixed drinks.
To answer op’s question, I think it’s more of a supply/demand case, and a postmix doesn’t display the brand as well as a can of an energy drink does (which is also marketing).

If you have a teenage daughter: do you have gendered bathrooms in your home? If no: why not? A significant number of rapes happen at home, surely a gendered bathroom will help.

For some magical reason, YouTube music has less AI music than Spotify.
The playlists are significantly worse, but I haven’t really heard any AI Christmas music that has infested Spotify.

- Comment on UK needs cyber security professionals, but won't pay up 3 months ago:
The US does pay significantly higher, but with enormous costs. My senior full stack engineer position would be about 60k/year at the government, which is a significant income to Dutch standaards.
My monthly costs are around 1400 per month, the rest used for savings and fun.

I installed new blinds on our two roof windows and closed them this evening. I’m not sure a cave gets much darker than that.
Nobody got injured (so far).
- Comment on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 sucks up to 180 Mb/s of internet bandwidth while in flight — equivalent to 81GB of data per hour 4 months ago:
It is. If it’s 140 mbit/s (or 15 MB/s), Flight Simulator only uses 54 GB per hour. OP is confusing bits and bytes.
It’s still a shit load of data.

5G towers do cause covid. Without 5G my WiFi would be far too shitty to book a cinema seat and get nice and infected by Karen her unvaccinaged crotch goblins.

- Comment on What Ticketmaster Doesn't Want You To Know: Concerts Were Cheap For Decades 5 months ago:
If this is true, they’re effectively creating demand by removing a large set of seats from the initial offering pool. This means they can say “tickets are selling fast”, without lying if you include that they’re just referring to the set on sale right now, not the total number of tickets.
This does smell like false advertising though, but I wouldn’t put it past the cracked US legal system for this to be totally legal.
