  I literally only said that because after establishing that my first reaction to noticing an American is ‘fuck them’ but realised that doesn’t hold because there are plenty of good Americans.

  I do wish screens were standard here, or at least more common… But AC is typically an excess/luxury in most of Europe. Only common in offices, schools, hospitals and the like.

  People have started to get those portable standing ACs more often now that our climate is getting clapped, but window units are alien to us.

  Heat pumps are probably more common now

  However, there are two types of racism and you are conflating the two. Don’t get me wrong, institutional racism is far more significant of an issue and victimises minority groups as you describe.

  However interpersonal racism does not require societal or cultural context to be racism.

  These people were assholes to you first but there is no need to be an asshole to random people just because they are not members of a minority group.

  That is undeniably racism, whether the person is white in america or han Chinese in china.
