- Comment on Your boomer parents after giving you the most outdated job-seeking advice of your fucking life [Day 86] 3 weeks ago:
Early 1900s doesn’t mean 1900-1909. It usually means the early century (1900-1950). If they were born in 1945 then had a child when they were 30, that child would be 50.
Also, they might just mean that their mentality is like that of the early 1900s, not that their parents are necessarily that old.

Yeah, I noticed that too! It would be cool to make a more easily accessible collection of these kinds of things.

I had a Popular Science magazine that included the 50 coolest websites you should visit. That was mine. I still get hit with so much nostalgia about it. They were legit so cool that they still put most websites I see nowadays to shame.

- Comment on I walked all over the damn store looking for butter 2 months ago:
The problem is that stores regularly change the locations of items so everything would be constantly wrong.
- Comment on I'm pretty sure all of us have given up on any boomer giving us anything anyway 2 months ago:
How? “Missing out” means you’re the one who is negatively impacted. It also says and Gen Z. Not sure how that could be interpreted otherwise.

- Comment on Why did the first people to settle in very cold climates decide to settle in such a harsh climate? 3 months ago:
Competing with ice and snow is often far less stressful, dangerous, and depressing than competing with other humans and tons of other species.

But why would an ad company want to block ad blockers? That makes no sense…

If the flipper bought your home, renovated it, and sold it to make a profit, then there are people who could have just bought the same home for cheaper (what the flipper paid) and paid the same as the flipper. They’re just middlemen.
- Comment on Why does it seem most people, mainly conservatives, against Trans people? Unless I am wrong I never heard of one shooting up a school church or whatever. The ones I have met have been pretty cool. 3 months ago:

I don’t get it. Screw worms devouring animals alive is extremely painful, so we should eradicate them? The process of any animal eating another is basically always excruciating and fucked up.

People putting out buckets of candy for Halloween instead of handing it out at the door. No more social interaction or tradition. Just grab free candy and go.
- Comment on Hypothetical: Can a person "citizen's arrest" themself? And if so, how (and why) would that even work? 4 months ago:
If you citizens arrested yourself then the criminal would also be holding the arrester hostage.
- Comment on Has "Self-Driving" devolved? 5 months ago:
Probably, because it’s simpler. Driving on a highway is way less complex of a task than driving in cities.
