So I’m trying to wrap my head around why they would do this and how that even worked. They would decommission them on Friday and have them rebuilt on Monday? These didn’t have a specific config then I assume? And they did it because they paid per hour the machine existed so it made sense cost wise?

It might be centipedes. Those guys are apex predators of their microcosm.

Mremoteng is the one we use in our company. It’s awesome.
- Comment on The USA spends $15k/student annually which is 30% higher than the global median. Why do U.S. schools have "fundraisers" where kids are incentivized to sell stuff to people? 5 days ago:
This gives the figures with sources: worldpopulationreview.com/…/per-pupil-spending-by…
- Comment on I cheat on as many people as I want to 6 days ago:
I agree. By cheating you break the contract of blindly trusting each other and you can never trust a partner who cheated again. That’s why I don’t understand people who start a serious relationship with someone who is still in another relationship. You have a known cheater right from the start. Why would you do that to yourself?
I actually only know one relationship personally that started like that where they are still together (almost 12 years now). But in that case the girl had already made up her mind but hadn’t gotten around breaking up with her high school sweetheart yet.

I assume a coup by the reigning government.

These fuckers will clean out a pond in your backyard in no time, so don’t worry about them. They alternate between a range of ponds anyway, it’s not like it’s gonna starve. They are beautiful birds though.
- Comment on Whose bright idea was it to give the morning people enough power to set the "business hours" anyways‽ 2 months ago:
I admire your passion. None of the things you mention are mutually exclusive with generally preferring to rise early, however. Preferring to rise early is not a statement against people working night shifts.
- Comment on Whose bright idea was it to give the morning people enough power to set the "business hours" anyways‽ 2 months ago:
This is really about habits. I used to be a night owl, but changed my habits gradually and now I’m a morning person. You might have some genetic predisposition towards staying up late, but even so this is something that you can change, I believe.
What helped me, is that I started enjoying waking up early a lot more than staying up late.

Which savage listens to the gps? Turning off the sound is the first thing I do. Although I have been considering getting a snoop dogg voiced gps or maybe Douglas Hedley (the philosophy professor from Cunk).
- Comment on Anon's PC works 4 months ago:
Mine is from 2011 and still going strong. It had some upgrades like extra ram, ssd and a new gpu a couple of years ago and I had to replace the front fan. It starts making a horrible noise about 4 hours into a gaming session with a graphically demanding game, but apart from that it runs perfectly fine. I don’t really play demanding games usually so I don’t really care. When it finally dies, I might just swap out the motherboard and cpu and keep the rest. It’s my personal ship of Theseus.

I like diamonds, my wife calls me a magpie. I buy her jewelry so I get to look at it while she wears it. That being said, I only buy jewelry with artificial diamonds for my better half. She jokingly reacts affronted when I tell her, with an incredulous face she will go “What? No children died for this? Some husband you are!”

If this goes to trial, and it probably will at one point provided he gets arrested, there is a decent chance of jury nullification.

The song is called “The ecstasy of gold” but the movie is “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”. Still, that was an impressive description.

Doing neither, as these things are well documented and demonstrably true, but believe whatever you want to believe.
