I don’t even know what potash is…

Which savage listens to the gps? Turning off the sound is the first thing I do. Although I have been considering getting a snoop dogg voiced gps or maybe Douglas Hedley (the philosophy professor from Cunk).
- Comment on Anon's PC works 2 weeks ago:
Mine is from 2011 and still going strong. It had some upgrades like extra ram, ssd and a new gpu a couple of years ago and I had to replace the front fan. It starts making a horrible noise about 4 hours into a gaming session with a graphically demanding game, but apart from that it runs perfectly fine. I don’t really play demanding games usually so I don’t really care. When it finally dies, I might just swap out the motherboard and cpu and keep the rest. It’s my personal ship of Theseus.

Currently using one as a pillow. Can confirm seal pillows are great.
- Comment on Diamond market 3 weeks ago:
I like diamonds, my wife calls me a magpie. I buy her jewelry so I get to look at it while she wears it. That being said, I only buy jewelry with artificial diamonds for my better half. She jokingly reacts affronted when I tell her, with an incredulous face she will go “What? No children died for this? Some husband you are!”

More like a broken clock: correct eventually for a short time.

That’s Sidney Sweeney, btw. You’re welcome.

Seems like what Dominique Pelicot considered his wife to be. Not an example I am willing to follow, I’ll tell you that.
- Comment on Do you want the murderer of the UnitHealthcare CEO prosecuted? 1 month ago:
If this goes to trial, and it probably will at one point provided he gets arrested, there is a decent chance of jury nullification.
- Comment on Got 20 euro, what game/games to get on steam autunm sale? 1 month ago:
I picked up Dave the diver + dlc for something around 18€. Have been playing it all day and can highly recommend it.

The song is called “The ecstasy of gold” but the movie is “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”. Still, that was an impressive description.
- Comment on Greatest video game ever played? 1 month ago:
My personal favorite will probably always remain the Mass effect trilogy.
- Comment on Anon thinks the French are posers 1 month ago:
Doing neither, as these things are well documented and demonstrably true, but believe whatever you want to believe.
- Comment on Anon thinks the French are posers 1 month ago:
In France, but also Belgium and the Netherlands, you have a very malcontent population of 2nd or 3rd generation offspring (mostly male) of migrants who feel left out by the system and take any opportunity to cause chaos. It are these kids who set cars alight, not the protestors.
Often when there is a truly large protest, they are there to “fight against the system” by getting into fights with the police and burning cars and just causing overall mayhem.

When you click on “What!?” it’s the same text but capitalized.
- Comment on That chicken's name? Joe Rogan 2 months ago:
I have been watching Newsradio after seeing a very funny clip, which has Joe Rogan as the IT/maintenance guy. He’s not very funny, but I was surprised it was the same guy as I had only ever heard of him as a podcaster.
- Comment on Pizza rule 2 months ago:
I once did something like that to myself. Not satisfied with the tame spiciness of jalapenos on pizza, I decided to put a bhut jolokia (aka ghost pepper) on one. That was a profoundly dumb idea.
I was blinded by the need for spice and suffered twice.
- Comment on So bad it was actually entertaining 2 months ago:
I think we decided to play 3 more rounds and then count the points, as the game was still gonna go on for at least another hour otherwise.

That reminds me of the Amadeus bar in Leuven. The owner was notoriously grumpy and curt. I sometimes went there as a student to play board games. One time he seemed very interested as we were playing, as he was looking at the board. We asked him if he wanted to play with and he just went “No, I’m wondering how much longer this game will take so I can kick you out and close.”
Not sure if it’s still open.
- Comment on ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ to Lose $150 Million to $200 Million in Theatrical Run After Bombing at Box Office 2 months ago:
I think both movies are worth it. The second one appears to have less mass appeal, but I thought it was a great movie. I think in time this movie will be rehabilitated by the general public and you’ll have people who are bashing it now saying they always liked it.

Unix?

How is that a joke? House cats have the cosiest and laziest life of all. I sometimes wish I was one. My wife and I are convinced that Buddhism has reincarnation wrong. Humans are not the highest life forms, cats are.
- Comment on PC gaming fan Steven Spielberg says he "can't do controllers," prefers keyboard and mouse 3 months ago:
I’m in the same camp, although I wish it wasn’t so. I’ve gotten okayish at Rocket League with mouse and keyboard, but that really is a controller game.

So the only mobile game I really play often is Mad Skills BMX 2 which has 0 dark patterns. Yay
- Comment on There can be only one winner 3 months ago:
Melatonin stimulates your bodies vitamin D creation, which makes you tired when it gets dark. It’s not a magical bullet to solve insomnia, but it helps sleep regulation for people who don’t get enough sunlight. You still need some sunlight though, just less.

I second kagi. Have been using it for almost a year now and I will stick with it. I switched from google to ddg some years ago to ddg before, but kagi is simply better.
A colleague also uses it and is also very satisfied with it.
