I don’t think I’d count that as explicitly a physical bodily function.

Tear ducts, sure. But eyeballs?

Thank you for that context.
I stand by my points that his comments were vile and inexcusable, and that he’s spend the better part of twenty years also feeling that they were vile and inexcusable.
- Comment on No words 2 weeks ago:
And I’m not trying to excuse the words or his behavior on stage. Only trying to acknowledge his behavior since the day after the incident and for the last 20 years as steadfastly apologetic. His words were wrong, and importantly he thinks so too.
- Comment on No words 2 weeks ago:
It looks to me like what they’re referring to is Michael Richards tirade being uncomparable to Jerry’s comments that were supporting the genocide. That’s how I read it, anyway.
That’s what I’m saying too. Seinfeld’s comments were made in a more calm matter, but were way way way worse than Richards’.
But I mean he (Richards) was talking about lynching the guy at the Laugh Factory, so even as far as racism goes, that’s pretty fucking up there.
I don’t recall the lynching comments, only the several utterances of the n word, but I could be wrong. In either case it was vile and cannot be excused. What’s more telling to me is his behavior since; he was immediately apologetic and he has remained so for 20 years
- Comment on No words 2 weeks ago:
Is it [Seinfeld’s comments] even close to publicly supporting a genocide? Hell no.
- Comment on No words 2 weeks ago:
So you excuse Seinfeld here, but still hold Richards 100% accountable?
- Comment on No words 2 weeks ago:
I’ve posted this elsewhere, I don’t think Richards is a piece of shit like Seinfeld.
The Michael Richards incident was a literal one time event, albeit a terrible one. There were zero instances before and zero instances after that suggest Richards is racist. Everything since then Michaels has done suggests he’s exceedingly remorseful over it.
I am not excusing it in the least, but I don’t think it’s even close to fair to compare him to someone currently supporting the genocide in Palestine.

What I’ll say in Apples defense is they largely are what they say they are. You may not like what Apple provides, which is fair, but at least you know what you’re getting.

Cis men have been, and mostly continue to be, the most privileged group in western society. So it’s easy to dismiss anything negative that affects them.

There was not a year zero. This isn’t a conspiracy theory.
- Comment on Impossible 4 months ago:
I’m a firm believer each nominal decade (“the 80s” in this case) starts with the year ending in 1 (1981-1990).
Mathematically it’s correct (there was no year 0), but more to the point look at anything in the popular culture in 1980, doesn’t it look like it’s from the 70s? Video from 1990 doesn’t look “90s”, it looks 80s.

Even if you were to concede that point, which to be clear, I absolutely do not, due process must be extended to everyone in order to know who is a citizen and who is not.

- Comment on Judge Orders Elections Board to Certify Democrat’s Victory in Contested N.C. Race 4 months ago:
I perhaps did not separate my points well.
Point one is challenging the results in a very close elections is acceptable and even important because it ensures the accuracy of the results. I take no issue with anyone, of either party, doing so in earnest.
Point two is that SCOTUS stopped the legitimate recount of the close results on Florida but it wasn’t because Gore/the recount was unreasonable.
What I see with these Republicans in contested races is simply to ignore the results and stubbornly refuse to accept results, often even after recounts.
- Comment on Judge Orders Elections Board to Certify Democrat’s Victory in Contested N.C. Race 4 months ago:
Fair enough, but I don’t recall it being so much contested (or Gore refusing to concede) but rather that SCOTUS stepping in before the recount was complete.
Ensuring close elections are accurately called is understandable, simply refusing to accept the results is another.
I haven’t yet read the article, but my money is on the latter in this case.
