That’s quite the review, I think I still prefer Far Cry 4 (don’t really know why tbh), but 5 did surprise me. Although New Dawn was a giant disappointment, didn’t even finish it
- Comment on Games Where Nothing Happens (SPOILERS for various game plots) 1 week ago:
I suppose I’m misremembering, it’s been like 5 years since I played it. Maybe I’ll play it again some day, I remember quite liking the game
- Comment on Games Where Nothing Happens (SPOILERS for various game plots) 1 week ago:
Damn near every time travel game I’ve played has ended where you basically stop yourself from starting the whole plot so that none of it ever happens.
This ruined Life Is Strange 1 for me. Great game, but in the end she somehow knows that undoing all time travel stuff, including letting your best friend die, means that there won’t be a giant storm and not undoing anything will lead to said storm destroying the entire town.
In the end you only have 1 choice, where your choices throughout the game don’t matter because you undid everything, or your choices don’t matter because everyone is dead.
Very anti climactic imo - Comment on Games Where Nothing Happens (SPOILERS for various game plots) 1 week ago:
Didn’t Far Cry 5 end with a nuclear explosion? Yeah leaving him be is probably the better option

That’s not more efficient because the big square is bigger

The periodic sale is already driving up the consumerism enough for me, I really don’t need to buy more games, but I want to

Apparent and perceptible are the key words here. Your brain makes up pretty much everything and pretends it’s the real deal. Detail and consistency really aren’t all that great actually, much like ai video generation
- Comment on Anon turns on raytracing 1 month ago:
The extra performance rquirements alone mean you’re going to be doing more work elsewhere to make up for it, and that’s ignoring the current bugs/quirks with RT in whatever engine you’re using.
No worries, we got upscaling and frame generation now!

- Comment on Former PlayStation exec says "$70 or $80" games are a "steal": "As long as people choose carefully how they spend their money, I don't think they should be complaining" 2 months ago:
You can’t just scale game prices linearly with inflation, sure costs of development have increased, not just because of inflation but also because games are much more complex now. But the gaming market has grown a lot and games are infinitely reproducible so that hugely increases profits.
I don’t know how much we should pay for games, but just comparing it to inflation is useless
- Comment on Youtuber Geekerwan has find the motherboard of Switch 2 and after reverse-engineer it have simulate the performance on a similar PC 3 months ago:
I can totally emulate PS2 and some Switch games on my phone, but never really use the power
- Comment on Bees don't have lungs. 3 months ago:
How does double the mass increase the damage 16 fold? I understand surface area vs volume, but that doesn’t seem relevant when working with mass
- Comment on Quantum mechanics might have the solution to joystick drift 4 months ago:
They are never going to sell a product like that for €306 or whatever. They’d probably bump it up to €349 in that case
- Comment on Quantum mechanics might have the solution to joystick drift 4 months ago:
Is accuracy or size even an issue with hall effect sensors? Hall effect sensors can have plenty of resolution and can also be small, the PSVita 1000 had hall effect sensors and those are smaller than the switch joycons
- Comment on Are PC handhelds like Steam Deck really competitors for Switch 2? 4 months ago:
The Ally, Legion, Claw and Win 4 are all more expensive than the Steam Deck. The Odin 2 and Pocket 5 are not, but they don’t run steam, so you can definitely not play all the same games as the steam deck

- Comment on I don't envy the humans pre-dentistry 5 months ago:
Oh wow, that sucks. I still have trauma’s from my lift bottom wisdom tooth (and my crackling jaw sometimes reminds me of it), but I don’t really remembering such pain. They numbed half my mouth during the procedure, so I didn’t feel anything (apart from the hammering and drilling moving my entire head). It definitely sucked when I got home, but the pain wasn’t too bad
- Comment on I don't envy the humans pre-dentistry 5 months ago:
You had no pain killers?

Its so annoying with phone numbers as well, depending how someone pronounces is. My mom always says phone numbers in 2 digits, like 06 12 34 56 78 (06 twelve fourandthirty sixandfifty eightandseventy) and you just get confused because you want to type in the first number pronounced

The bowling ball also has more mass compared to the surface area than the marble because maths, so air resistance would be very little for the bowling ball compared to the marble
