- Comment on Frostpunk creators cancel "Project 8" and lay off staff amid concerns that "narrative-driven, story-rich games" don't sell 2 days ago:
The Alters isn’t out yet. Expected release Q1 2025. It’s on my wish list because I love the demo.
Indika they were just the publisher. On top of which, maybe has a story that not everyone is interested in. I watched these guys play it, youtu.be/MuiHtAYOqgI and while it’s creative and it’s overall a fantastic game, is not one I’m going to play myself.
The Thaumaturge, again they are just the publisher. I hadn’t even heard of this one which means as the publisher they did a terrible job marketing it.
- Comment on Helldivers 2 players rip into Arrowhead for 'straight-up ridiculous' Killzone crossover prices, CEO defends the choice 3 days ago:
They hire psychologists to explicitly figure out how to better make sales. Logical thinking will not win. Microtransactions, which consists of crap you don’t need, is a billion dollar industry and has bankrupted numerous homes.
- Comment on It's 54 degrees Fahrenheit (12 Celsius), raining moderately hard, the rain is cold, and there's a guy blowing around wet leaves with a leaf blower. What the hell is the obsession with leaf blowers? 5 days ago:
I have an electrically blower. But I use it to clean my gutters.

I mean if you surround it with chicken and some Alfredo instead of marinara you got yourself a pretty nice pizza.
But that’s not what they did. They must be one of those that throws broccoli into their spaghetti. Not on the side,… in.

I know some of those people that never stop talking or always on their phone.
I’ve asked them to stop. I’ve told them to stop. I’ve pointed out that if it was somebody else doing it, they’d be pissed off because someone else is ruining their time. They have zero fucks to give.
- Comment on What video game company/developer/publisher loves shitting on it's fans? 2 weeks ago:
I’ve repeatedly heard that they could operate at a loss for decades and be fine… But I’ve never actually seen real numbers to back that up.
- Comment on What video game company/developer/publisher loves shitting on it's fans? 2 weeks ago:
Nintendo has increasingly become a problem over there last decade. From taking down tournaments, going after YouTubers, the predatory partner program that they ran for a bit, them suing everybody in sight. Them being anti-emulation but then being found to use emulation that was created by a third party and profiting off of it.
I’ve already decided I’m not buying the next console. I’m done with that company. I look forward, genuinely, to innate file for bankruptcy. To me they’re a lot like Bizzard. Both of these companies are not the same company they were 20 years ago.

I did that in badminton. I’m the beginning I swapped hands when they weren’t looking. Once they caught on, of randomly swap whenever.

- Comment on Will sucking on Ice Breakers be healthier for me? 3 weeks ago:
I would presume it wouldn’t matter. I don’t think icebreakers have layers and it’s just the same thing all the way through. Sorbitol, while tasting sweet, is a hyperosmotic laxative.
It may be better to address the addiction then trying to dodge the side effects.

Actually, saying you don’t know, when you do, in the right context is a great teaching utility with kids.
They could ask like, why something is or does and while you know the answer, it’s much better to foster their curiosity and help then learn and understand instead of just giving the answer.

I mean that’s a fun speech and all but they actually address it. Look into the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. Then do a quick search for the Heisenberg compensator.

I came to comment on the same thing. I remember when World Warcraft was yet to be released, most weren’t expecting it to succeed due to its silly look compared to Ultimate Online 2 and Everquest 2 coming out near the same time, and I want to say there was another big name that was expected to run the same time but it eludes me. WoW was often criticized as looking to cartoony and potentially made just for young children. Of course this was before the beta was out, and you had at most screen captures in gaming magazines.

People who park the wind way in the parking lot and then dive the wind6 way. I’m talking about were the lanes aren’t wide, so they’re all angled. There even arrows painted at the entrance of each lane. But there always some dipshit that pulls through, or did the dumbest maneuver you’ve seen to back into it. And then they glare at people in their way who are going the right way…
Going to the grocery store has just infuriated me with a sheer number of entitled terrible drivers. Every last one of them should be sent back to driver’s ed.

- Comment on What does this emoji mean? Is this a British thumbs up? 1 month ago:
emojipedia.org/call-me-hand#designs
It is in fact, the call me hand from iOS
In Unicode 9, it’s label is ‘call me hand’
I get that it is the exact same symbol as other things. However, officially as an emoji it is recognized as ‘call me hand’.
My guess is to why is to not recognize any particular nation. Because the hand gesture isn’t just Shaka, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_number_gestures?wpr… see number six.
Or see ASL, the letter Y.
- Comment on What does this emoji mean? Is this a British thumbs up? 1 month ago:
This way predates cell phones. Handsets have been in use for… Nearly 100 years I think. Not sure exactly when the gesture caught on our it’s origin.

174868880 seconds/60 = 2914481.33333333 minutes/60 = 48574.6888888889 hours/24 = 2023.94537037037 days/365 = 5.54505580923389 years
Using this as the basis
1y = 31,536,000 seconds
1m = 2,629,746 seconds
1w = 604,800 seconds
1d = 86,400 seconds
1h = 3,600 seconds
So 5 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 2 days, 7 hours, 46 minutes, and 44 seconds.

Your assuming that all the details are in the story, and everything said was accurate. Or hell, the story even ever happened and wasn’t made up.
Here’s an example, of people not really connecting the dots when they tell their side of the story. www.youtube.com/shorts/t0QqrgWVvWw
Also, if a person shows up drunk to an interview, do you think they wouldn’t show up drunk to work? The kitchen is a dangerous place, I’ve personally seen many emergency room visits because someone was careless. And some people aren’t good at accepting “no” as an answer.
- Comment on Threw a wrestling watch party, made special food, and was very disappointed in the outcome. 2 months ago:
I’ve experienced stuff like this.
I think the last time I tried being above and beyond type of host, had a bunch of people coming over for a big weekend. I thought I do something really special and make steaks. But this wasn’t just going to be like any grilled steak no no no. These steaks were going to be prepped the night before and then sous vide. But before I even started this plan I reached out to everyone and said what I was planning to do and ask if there were any issues with it, any requests, etc. I describe to everyone and great detail what I was going to make. Not one person said anything other than the “sounds good”.
If you’re unfamiliar with sous vide the short of it is it takes a long time to cook. Generally it’s measured in hours I’d say. As such I need to cook all of the steaks at the same temperature for the same amount of time I don’t have the setup at home to do individual orders.
One of the individuals once they got here, asked if I could make them a hamburger instead. Like I was a fucking restaurant.
And another one slathered it with ketchup without even trying it without. Claimed it was overcooked and dry. 🤨
Thankfully everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their perfect steaks.
Other times I would buy up a bunch of stuff so we could have breakfast. Like a proper breakfast, not just a handful of carbs in calling it good. But people would wake up late despite knowing when breakfast was going to be on. And then say they weren’t hungry. And not 30 minutes out the door, talking about picking up something or swinging by somewhere to quick grab a bite.

Or instead of just immediately playing the bigotry card on some green text…
Person could have walked in and was drunk, or high. Having worked in kitchens way back when I have seen both with great regularity.
Person could have walked in and been immediately inappropriate especially with the front house.
Maybe it was an actual high-end restaurant where it requires somebody to have actual skills,
- Comment on Nintendo filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair, Inc. 2 months ago:
Dragon Ball was using capsules to store things long before Pokemon did. And Dragon Ball Z, which ended in Japan in '96 had already done storing 'creatures in capsules. Saibamen for one. And after the Saiyan saga Bulma puts her dead friends in coffin capsules.
So Akira Toriyama did it before Pokemon.
- Comment on No 'Sims 5' Coming as EA Updates Franchise With Multiplayer 2 months ago:
This is what everyone wanted! Another “as a service” game! Oh, and look, a store front!
and partner with some “Sims” players to sell their own custom in-game content through the EA store as “Creator Kits.”
Would those “players” be musicians? 100% someone is already trying to figure out how to “collab” with Katy Perry. Big IPs of other franchises (movies/games/anime)? Are they going to do limited timed events to really push the FOMO? Did they see Fortnite and thought “Lets do that!”.
- Comment on Anon enjoys hot chocolate 3 months ago:
Yes, being serious. You… may want to google “dopamine induced addiction”.
And perhaps read this www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8638539/
But to quote diamondrehabthailand.com/what-is-dopamine-addicti…
Certain foods, particularly those high in sugar, fat, and salt, trigger the release of dopamine in the brain’s reward centers, leading to feelings of pleasure and satisfaction. This dopamine-induced pleasure drives individuals to compulsively overeat, perpetuating the cycle of food addiction.
- Comment on Anon enjoys hot chocolate 3 months ago:
Possible low dopamine levels. Hot chocolate spikes it, so they end up chasing that feeling.
