I don’t know if you consider them “asset flips” or not. But the number of anime/furry porn “puzzle” games released every single day, has to be throwing off the numbers.

Indie games pump Valve’s stock, popular or not—they should get some profit sharing even if they don’t sell IMO but that’s just me. Like a community dividend. Unfortunately, not too many people demand more from Valve.
Hopefully, by “stock” you mean available supply of games and not stock as in the stock market, since Valve is a private company and isn’t traded.
As for profit sharing… no. That would incentivise even more porn AI slop games to be dumped on there, as if that wasn’t already a problem. The “content farms” that are just going to churn out crap… would get all of the community share. And large companies would very likely ignore Steam going forward because again, potentially less profit. Unless it comes from Valves share, which that doesn’t make a lot of business sense to give up revenue in order to pay those who weren’t successful, a “participation award” of a paycheck.

One time, not only did the person try the door, I yell “OCCUPIED”… then pounded on the door, then tried the handle again… somehow immediately got the attention of an employee who just fucking unlocked the door. And I’m just standing there, dick in hand like “WHAT THE FUCK”… and they were like, “oh sorry, we didn’t think anyone was in here”. Couldn’t wait one god damn minute, cause I had just walked in.

People take the “extrovert” and “introvert” way to far. Instead of being an observation of behavior, they take it to extremes, try turning it into a “quirky” personality and then role-play it everywhere. All due to social media. They talk about it like people who believe in astrology talk about astrology. And then they pretend they’re super happy, when they’re actually miserable and depressed but refuse to think their “introvert” persona is the issue.

The Hy-Vee near me, used to make the best fried chicken sandwich in town. Possibly some of the best fried chicken I’ve had from anywhere. I would regularly get a fried chicken sandwich. It was good because it was a fresh chicken breast, coated and deep fried right there. It wasn’t some Sysco frozen patty. And it was priced pretty well too to be honest.
New Management (I think at the corporate level) from my understanding, it’s not fresh chicken anymore. I would guess it’s maybe a third the weight it was, the price has gone up, and it is most definitely a frozen patty.
The one section that used to do like Cafe options, stop doing spicy tenders. And no longer lets you get anything from the cold section.
So I’ve stopped going. And I’m not the only one. Because the Hy-Vee also did burgers. But the burgers are also smaller and when I swing by and I see that there’s a lot of burgers both chicken and beef just sitting there no one touching them. Quantity and quality went down price went up.

I do believe that’s what it used to mean at one point. And it wasn’t just a livable wage as in “well, you won’t die,” like it meant something. Now, it’s simply the lowest amount these companies are legally allowed to pay you w/o using loopholes.
- Comment on Absolutely 2 weeks ago:
It’s still more than twice the price it should be.

Get a hula hoop attach a camera to it. Drop hula hoop over something with it being in the middle. Did thing in hula hoop take off? No. Thing had no momentum. It’s velocity versus relative velocity.

For both xbox and playstation, right now, with discs, unless your internet if faster than 200Mbps, discs are faster. Also, installing from disc has no bandwidth caps, which is common in many places.
And if you say “I have faster internet”, good for you buddy. Your experience isn’t shared by everyone around the world.

Micromanagement. If you go “AFK” in just 2 minutes… your boss might start asking questions. Where did you go? Why weren’t you working? All sorts of bullshit every bad manager would pull out. In a misguided attempt to try to ensure you give “110%” performance!
I had a manager years ago, she tried to enforce phone codes. She would then compile a report. Trying to determine when you were on break, when you went to use the bathroom, how much time you weren’t in the phone queue, etc. She was eventually demoted from her position for basically making enemies of everyone she managed. And that report didn’t help any meaningful metric.

Perhaps its different there, Europe has far better general consumer protection policies. But in the US, generally, if someone gets your debit card info, they can drain your account and the bank won’t do anything. The money is gone.
- Comment on Valid point 1 month ago:
If you can, I’d suggest switching to a credit card and just pay it off every month. The general lack of consumer protection on debit cards is frightening. So many companies put minimum effort in protecting your data.

This is so accurate. And, I had “friends” back in high school, who were very much into meth and very much into sharing.
But every single big meeting at work, is just about AI. it’s just a sales pitch, nothing specific. One of the senior managers emails multiple times a week about fake “wins” due to AI. How, because of AI, some random API is now 4x better! (He doesn’t know what API is…) When I teams opens up, it’s just “AI Bootcamps” plastered everywhere. The intranet homepage, 3 of the 5 things on the carousel is just AI. Multiple “demo days” have just been people showing how they’ve been fucking around in AI and not doing work.
Someone in mgmt, has made it a goal for more AI usage. Put teams on blast who weren’t “using it enough”. Fake metrics of how much good code it’s generated (with no actual examples of course). And yeah, now they’re tracking usage to ensure we get enough AI “touches” a month. They’re monitoring our badge-in (due to RTO) and now they’re monitoring AI adoption and usage.
But just ignore the massive outsourcing to India/SEA… no need to worry about that.

Yeah, that’s what I meant. Like, expressing yourself to someone you’re dating, like “This made me uncomfortable,” generally should be ok. This proved to be the exception.
someone getting upset at being told they are lucky to be with the person they are with is kinda full of themselves and reading way too much into it
Well, what if the bartender was being a piece of shit, say someone who has cerebral palsy, saying they’re even lucky to be with someone… Would you still say that person is full of themselves? I think telling anyone they’re “lucky” to be with someone, from an outside perspective, is intentionally demeaning to one of the two people. Now, if someone in a relationship says they feel lucky to have found someone, that’s different. But clearly, it’s open to interpretation. And changes in context.
Little personal story to add, I dated a girl a while back, and ALL her friends and co-workers would say how lucky she was and how good I was for her. We all knew why, she was overweight and I wasn’t. They didn’t even just hint and maybe I read that wrong, they were BLUNT about it. I was doing home cooking for us instead of doing fast food. I worked out, did 5k races, I was in great shape. And I was exposing her to that life and she was noticeably losing weight. But the look on her face when people said “she was lucky”, was defeat.
