Don’t worry, they’ll be just as hypocritical as any other virtue-signaling group. Bees make honey, honey bad. But they’ll act like pollenators aren’t needed for crops or something. Or ignore that beekeepers will take their hives out to farms to pollinate various crops, like avocado. Or that bees seem to, on some level, understand that they have a great deal going. They’re not trapped in the hives; they could leave at anytime but don’t. And their honey production is higher than that of wild bees. And they have a higher survival rate because the beekeeper ensures they’re safe from predators, or from the elements, and from disease. Every beekeeper I’ve ever seen absolutely love their bees.
But the fun part, is not all vegans think like this. Because it’s a “contentious” topic among them. For one, why does anyone care what anyone eats? Like, as long as it’s not cannibalism, I don’t give a shit. But vegans, from what I gather, will “rank” themselves to other vegans to see who’s more vegan than the other. It really reminds me of the “church ladies”. The type who judge you for not being churchy enough, who brag about how much church they go to, how much they “do for the church”, a “higher than thou” mentality. Some vegans are closer to vegetarians, with just additional restrictions. So just like any group, it’s not all… it’s just a really loud minority that tries to speak for everyone.

Ah. So possible it was cranked up to 11 (no pun intended) after 9/11. That, or its frequency illusion, and I just never noticed really before a certain point.
- Comment on Shamelessly stolen from Reddit 1 week ago:
I could be wrong here… but around the George W. Bush administration + 9/11 and the government painting everything they do as something to protect “against the terrorists!!!” that’s when a lot of things started happening.
That’s when the view of the military seemed to flip and it’s just been stuck that way. Movies like Top Gun were made as a PR stunt to make the military look better. The same is for basically every cop show out there: make cops look like the good guys. Anywho, every company went out of their way to really show “how much they support the troops” by giving a discount. And every smooth-brain started saying “THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE” every single time. The hero worship was/is real, and it shouldn’t be, and it’s a real problem. (Totally different conversation, but it’s led to an influx of people joining the military, or trying to, who really shouldn’t). Before Bush + 9/11, I don’t recall military discounts outside of, like, businesses that were owned/operated by vets.

No. Though if I got a nickel for every time Trump is associated with the Confederate flag… it’d be a rich man.

Outside the various shitty adjustments he’s making now, we cannot forget something perhaps bigger. Because of him, an enemy state flag (the flag of the Confederacy) was flown in the White House.

Have you seen a popular streamer that does?
Yes. I think a lot of people would reference the MatPat apology.
Why would he? don’t think anyone would lie about that, since those aren’t “glamorous” jobs
That’s your personal bias. He lets people believe what they want. He used it for clout, and while you might not care about game development or cybersecurity, there are many who do. When he did security, he did social engineering. Which is just as valid, but if people are more impressed because they think he’s looking at source code and whatnot… he doesn’t correct them and leans into those stories. Since you kinda hipster-esque view of YouTubers… here’s a guy with less than 1000 subs talking about it, youtu.be/oKadi1zy8fQ and he didn’t really do that much at Blizzard either, not in game development either, but again, he doesn’t say what he actually did and has a lot of stories that don’t connect. That’s like if I said, “Yeah, I worked at the White House for 7 years” and just left it at that. But then it comes to light, I was the one mowing the grass, and that’s it. If I don’t specify what I did, nor correct people, and telling stories that I overhear that belong to someone else (and I don’t specify that) or talk about things that happen that I wasn’t involved with… then I’m lying by omission.
That guy rubs me the wrong way too (assuming you’re talking about Cr1TiKaL/penguinz0).
Not even close. www.youtube.com/@CodingJesus He’s a C++ developer who got his name because in some older photos of him people said he looked like Jesus. That’s the whole “lore”.

The WoW things is the most well known, be he had a similar behavior in another game, Ashes of Creation i think. Doesn’t take accountability for anything. Cannot say sorry.
There’s also stuff coming out here cheated on his former wife. And then was a massive manipulative dick towards the person that he was cheating on with.
Or that all his previous credentials are fabricated. Like he doesn’t like giving details what he’s actually done in previous jobs. He’ll just state that he works somewhere and then let you fill in the blank. Or passing off what someone else did at the job as his own.
In his own channel he purposely misrepresent the recent things about him. And coding Jesus actually put out a video showing that, when he tries to reach out immediately gets filtered and banned. But meanwhile Thor is telling people that all he had to do was try to reach out…

Kids are very materialistic.
When I was in middle school, I was probably the worst for me with the bullying. I came from a family that didn’t have a whole lot of money. Like even the cheap stuff we had to cut corners with. And well I was fully aware, that there was no real difference between what I had and what they had, it didn’t stop the consistent bullying. And the teachers never cared. The other students didn’t care in fact some of them would chime in too. And when that’s your life for several hours a day 5 days a week… You eventually just get to a breaking point.
I’ll never forget the day I basically had a complete emotional breakdown because we were doing back to school shopping at Target, and I saw one of those trapper keepers. With a weird designs on the outside. They were all the rage. And it was like eight bucks I think. My mom did end up buying it for me, but only because her soon-to-be 5th grader, collapsed in the isle crying. I don’t remember what I told her, but all I could think about was having that was going to make life just a little bit easier for me.
Kids can be real assholes to other kids.

LOL, so I’m pretty sure her name really is Brenda. Years ago, we did a Pi(e) day thing. And one of the ladies, who complained to management about an optional employee lead event (myself and some other people just threw it together) where we offered food to people who didn’t participate, went to the fridge and was overheard saying how her husband and kid would like the pie and just stole a whole goddamn pie as she left.

I suggest ZeroWater. The filters don’t last as long because they have more layers, but that means they filter out more things.
- Comment on Why do some people hate drinking water? 1 month ago:
Sometime in my 20s I just switched to water only. It wasn’t even a conscious decision really. Wasn’t like one day I woke up and was like I’m just going to drink water now. Just one day I’d realize that you have been like 2 years since I drank any soft drink. So I tried drinking some Dr pepper which I loved. It was disgusting. I had someone try to see if there was something wrong with it and they said it tasted perfectly normal. And it’s been that way for a long time now. I’ve tried little sips of new soft drinks that have come out that my friends like… And none of them taste good to me. Just room temp water, perfect.
I used to use mio to add a little flavor every now and then, but switch to Crystal light. I found the flavors to be more consistently good.

For the demo, I really liked it. I thought the writing was good as it set the atmosphere. Not to spoil anything, but the first guy you meet… it tells you a lot about things lol. HE BROKE SO MANY RULES! (iykyk) The dialog options seem like they could lead to something interesting down the road. Understanding the various characters and what they do seems like it could be an engaging loop while you level and modify their stats. After playing the demo, which is pretty short, I fully plan to pick this up when it’s released.

I lot of people are like this. They don’t conceive a world outside their own. When I was in grade school, so many people in my hometown thought that… we were going to be the next Columbine (not like there were any kids actively acting odd, just the feeling that we were somehow important enough to have such a tragedy). They also thought several big companies were going to open up shop (like Best Buy, Red Lobster, etc… it was the 90s). Currently, some people still live there who think they have the highest number of Somalians living there (they don’t), the largest amount of Muslims (they don’t), and they’re like the drug central for the state (they’re not).

Apple has gone out of their way to make it near impossible or impractical to repair their phones. I’m not spending my time making a list you’re not going to read. If you’re actually interested in learning, seek out Louis Rossmann on YouTube. Here’s just videos JUST Apple www.youtube.com/@rossmanngroup/search?query=Apple
You know how many people I know that have a cheap phone. One. Do you think my nieces and nephew would “settle” for cheap phones in grade school… LOL no. And if you’re like “Well it’s the parents…blah blah blah” then you’ve completely clocked out on the 8 hour bully sessions kids can receive, so don’t start.
You vastly underestimate Apples marketing and influence. I’ve argued with so many people that “well I like my AirPods” despite the fact phones UNTIL Apple killed the 3.5mm jack, had Bluetooth audio. The entire reason to remove the jack was to push sales of over priced e-waste.
Don’t @ me with this “you do realize” BS.

Movie theaters, especial AMC, are pricing out their customers. 2 people, discount matinee tickets, purchased online, over $40.
I don’t even look at the snack bar, because I didn’t think you could buy food that was more upcharge anywhere else if you tried.
When i was a kid, movies were like $4 and even that was considered a bit much.
Movies were supposed to be for the common person, since you probably couldn’t afford theater tickets.
- Comment on Palworld confirms ‘disappointing’ game changes forced by Pokémon lawsuit 3 months ago:
Here’s hoping Pokemon and Nintendo see disappointing sales. Everytime someone brings up Pokemon, bring up Palworld and how massive of a dick the Pokemon Company/Nintendo was. When people talk about the Switch 2, they bring up all the lawsuits Nintendo brought up on fans, all the YouTubers that dealt with issues because suing people, I’d assume, is Nintendo’s main income source at this point…

- Comment on What is your favorite indie game? 3 months ago:
Dota.
Ok, I know what you’re saying, “But Valve makes Dota2” which, yes, this is true. But the OG game came about from gamers just loving games and making a custom game. I think it’s peak “indie” in it’s origin. Which went off to spawn several clones (League of Legends, Heroes Of Newerth, Heroes Of The Storm, Smite, Pokemon Unite, Paladins, etc.). Dota2 by far has the most hours played of any game.

ITT: People who looked at some random headline, didn’t bother looking further and assumed they knew everything.
It’s a stupid headline. These tanks, are to directly affect air polution/quality in urban areas. Trees are terrible at that. The microalgae is 10-50x more effective in cleaning the air.
They aren’t going to rip out trees for these. It would have taken you 10 seconds to find the source of the image and the article from 3 years ago to find out, the social media post was misleading. You spent more time making incorrect and wild accusations.
