Meiwes then ran Brandes a bath, before going to read a Star Trek book, while checking on Brandes every fifteen minutes…
Wonder which book he was reading

With Armin Meiwes it was argued that the victim couldn’t consent to being killed because he wasn’t mentally sound. And he wasn’t mentally sound because he consented to being killed.
I could imagine that if you could convince a court that you are mentally sound beforehand, you could have someone legally murder you.
The whole eating thing is actually treated somewhat separately because that falls under disturbing the dead

Beer and Sprite is called Radler in Germany, meaning cyclist because it’s often drunken during weekend cycling tours when you don’t want a full beer

I think they would do the exact opposite for community purposes. In a medieval fantasy world they might be the only deaf person in their small town, so they don’t wanna be ostrasized for being different and weird.

- Comment on Anon buys an air fryer 1 month ago:
There are two kinds of reactions to trying out an air fryer:
“Wow, this is so much better than a normal oven” and
“Wow, this is so much worse than a normal fryer”
I am very much of the latter opinion

There are no people with dyslexia in Germany. The Kaiser implemented these super long words as a eugenics project to eliminate them. It is a very dark part of our history only few people know about
- Comment on To be fair, that's more than two words 1 month ago:
If you compare german non-compund words with their english translation the german words tend to do be a bit longer on average. I think the same also goes for the word-count in german sentences

In Project Hail Mary there is an alien species that from our point of view are basically living rocks, living in a far hotter atmosphere with many times the pressure of earth.
But from their point of view, humans are leaky sacks of flesh that live in fridge near-vacuum
- Comment on On social media we have these huge conversations where nobody involved has any actual experience. They're just repeating what other people said. Isn't that literally insane? 2 months ago:
