- Comment on As adults, do you still watch kids’ cartoons, either old or new? 1 week ago:
The vast majority of things I watch are intended for mature audiences, yes. Movies and series created for kids specifically just don’t entertain me, with a handful of exceptions. Shrek is love, Shrek is life, of course. I also really enjoyed a cartoon called Final Space, which I suspect is targeted for young teens but it’s pretty good! Despite being canceled :(. If anything has a Disney/Pixar label on it I avoid it like the plague though, it’s usually a cringefest for me.
- Comment on I would like to play a calm game 2 weeks ago:
What Remains of Edith Finch. If you liked Firewatch, you will like this one too. It’s short, roughly 2 hours to complete, and I recommend you do it in a single sitting. And provide some tissues.
If you like eerie (but not scary) vibes, I also recommend Kentucky Route Zero

- Comment on Nvidia Announces DLSS 5, and it adds... An AI slop filter over your game 2 months ago:
I think you misunderstand OP’s point then. The complaint is not just about the result, but also very much about the direction. The fact that, if Nvidia chooses to pursue this, games running on their GPUs may all be visually tampered with in a way that ignores the creator’s intent and the user’s wish. Could you imagine a world where every game looks exactly the same and uses the same fake faces? It would be incredibly dulling and boring, in my opinion.
Not only that, but puts on tinfoil hat this might enable Nvidia to insert their own desired images into games. Ads or propaganda insertion into our escapism is not too far fetched, and given how unprofitable AI is, it would be an easy way to suddenly make it profitable.
- Comment on 20th Century Studios will be releasing "Fight Club" on 4K Ultra HD on May 12 3 months ago:
I initially judged it by just the title and thought it was some action flick. It is not; it’s much better. Would indeed recommend, and please go in blind!

- Comment on I am looking for a Linux OS 3 months ago:
Seconding bazzite here. If you want to “get to know Linux” you might want to consider something else, but if you just want a well-running system with minimal use of the command line, Bazzite is an amazing option. I’ve been using it since August last year, and have only had to use the command line once in that time. Which isn’t a problem for me, but it may be a bit daunting for others (and that is totally fine!).

- Comment on Are there good Movies, TV Shows, Anime, with wholesome family (particularly parent-child) relations? 6 months ago:
It’s kinda mainstream, but I’ve enjoyed Modern Family quite a bit. Sure, there is some friction, but it all works out in the end, so perhaps that fits what you’re looking for.
- Comment on Here we go again... 7 months ago:
Slightly hotter take - this one may be the consumer’s fault. They keep making them because 1. copyright expiration, and 2. people keep fucking watching it! This is such an easy thing to use your wallet as a vote on.
Last year, an amazing movie called Juror #2 came in the cinemas. Not a remake (to my knowledge) or sequel of any kind. I watched in the first week of release in my country. I had to go to a less-well known cinema because the main ones did not even show it in that city. And once there, we were in a small watching room that wasn’t even full. One week into release. Meanwhile, Gladiator 2 down the hall was in a nearly sold-out, much larger room.
I love shitting on big corporations like many lemmings here, but in this specific instance, I think the consumers are at fault. Movies are not a necessity. Pirate them if you really want to watch a remake/sequel, and pay for original stuff. Companies keep making nostalgia slop because people keep paying them for it. It really is that simple.
- Comment on When did Cash for Chritianity become a thing? When even Jesus the son of god wouldn't stand for it in a church? If they preach why don't they practice from the bible? 7 months ago:
For me the explanation is simple: there is no logic within religion. Note that the bible says to love one another but also says that slavery is OK and that gay men should be stoned. These things conflict with one-another; you cannot be kind if you have slaves and stone other people, and you cannot have slaves and stone people if you are kind. It is physically impossible to follow all the rules in the bible. Many of its followers do not realize this, so their critical thinking skills are either lacking or damaged from all the BibLe gOoD thumping that they received from a young age. And because their critical thinking skills are damaged, many do not realize the obvious problem with giving money when jesus was, according to the book, not condoning this.
