He also invented a vegan burrito called the Dilberito that was somewhat questionable
“As for Adams, he left the world of food behind, considering the Dilberito a failure, a lesson to be learned. Adams would later describe the nutritional value of the burrito as such: ‘Three bites of the Dilberito made you fart so hard your intestines formed a tail.’”

Ho Chi Minh appealed to the United States’ supposed values of freedom and self-determination when he basically straight up asked for the Americans’ help liberating Vietnam from the French. Plenty of alternate histories to go around if the US doesn’t guarantee shooting itself in the foot 100% of the time

It’s always been like this. Jeeps famous inline 6 that everyone raves about had the oil filter directly over the alternator so every time you change the oil you spill dirty oil all over the vehicle’s main electrical components. It’s like it was designed by monkeys and no owner has ever seen a Toyota

Mark the Super Bowl on your calendar (if you are in the US) because it is the best time to go to most stores.

In the US very few employers in licensed trades are willing to apprentice anyone anymore so it can be difficult to find your way in

Side note, PBA has probably the coolest mascot in all of US colleges! The burrowing owl, an endangered owl that is not only native to Florida but lives on the campus! I know you know that, but for everyone else it’s worth knowing and looking up some pictures.
You could also make an argument for UC Santa Cruz

congrats on being the millionth person in this thread including the original artist to not know that words can have one meaning in a scientific context and another different meaning in a culinary context
here’s some more that will blow your mind, peanuts aren’t nuts, peanut butter isn’t butter, starfish aren’t fish, wow much learn

The other side of this term is that the banana is the largest herb; the banana tree is the tallest plant that doesn’t produce wood
Of course mixing up culinary and botany meanings deliberately is dumb and leads to people saying things like “a tomato is a fruit” and “a strawberry isn’t a berry” those people can go produce their own wood if you know what I mean

What makes the Bible such a great tool for controlling the masses is that you can take out of it whatever message you want and it’ll be valid and defensible. While at times Jesus was straight up communist he also said
But now he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a scrip; and he that hath not, let him sell his coat, and buy a sword.
That’s not even counting all the unhinged violence in the OT

I know “America Bad” is popular on the Internet but it’s not always true. The ADA was among the first laws worldwide to treat disability rights as full civil rights across nearly all areas of public life, including employment, private businesses, public spaces, and transportation, and it went on to inspire other countries to pass similar sweeping laws. Also worth noting it was signed into law by a Republican weirdly enough. Not sure that would happen today.
If you want to say that the broader social safety net including healthcare in America sucks though, and by extension harms disabled people, I can’t really argue with that. But the ADA is excellent and groundbreaking.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is legitimately the best in the world and other first world countries wish they treated disabled people as well as America

When I was younger and TNG was coming out, I thought “oh wow this is so cool, every 20 years we go another 100 years into the future of Star Trek!” And here we are almost 40 years later, still rehashing the same characters from the same eras over and over. The only breath of fresh air is the last bit of Discovery and Starfleet Academy. Give me a flagship show set in the 26th century or a show about the Temporal Cold War. Something new!
