- Comment on How do trains save fuel when they literally park on the tracks and block multiple intersections, with over a hundred vehicles steady burning gas all around waiting for the train to fucking move? 3 days ago:
Good luck with this fight. Texas sued for the right of the state to enforce time limits on trains blocking intersections; and the supreme court told them to fuck off.

Correct. Topless yard work is 100% legal in my redneck state. Let them puppies breathe!

That, I also learned, is a common misconception. Flag code just says pick it up off the ground.
- Comment on Red, White and Blue 1 week ago:
Huh, TIL. I guess throwing it on the ground was against flag code but not the actual burning.
- Comment on Red, White and Blue 1 week ago:
I don’t think patriotism and flag code are necessarily linked.

They’re a pain in the balls to field strip and clean,
They’re designed to be field stripped using only a bullet as a tool. Not many designs are any simpler.
Get yourself a nice Ruger 10-22,
Now THAT is a pain in the balls to field strip and clean (comparatively) . But I agree, 10/22s are awesome and make a far more practical first gun for anything other than going to war.

Peacocks are annoying as hell. Preposterously loud. That may be. I can’t actually see them because of a big privacy fence. But I definitely recognize the sound, my grandparents raised them.
I’ve literally seen people sell their condos because of the damn peacocks. If it was economically feasible, I’d sell my house because of the dogs :/

One of my neighbors have Peacocks. The rest have dogs. I’ll take Peacocks any day!
It’s kind of adorable hearing them yell at cars driving by too fast/loud.

like the dreams of a working rotary engine? Many companies have tried, but it keeps killing companies and it still is an impossible goal.
Rotarys are 2-strokes are kneecapped by emissions standards/laws, not because they don’t work.

The question is: “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?”
So prescriptions should not count.

Simply being prepared for the worst is a plenty fine plan. Just, actually be prepared, don’t just buy a gun and expect to know how to use it proficiently when the need arises.

Does anyone here do shoes on indoors?
In/out doors doesn’t really make a difference. If I need shoes outside, I’m probably wearing them inside. And vice versa.
Maybe it would be different if I had carpet. Carpet is impossible to thoroughly clean in situ. I would never allow outside shoes on non-rental carpet. But I’ve got 100+ year old hardwood floors that have seen way worse than I’m tracking in.
