  We can thank No Child Left Behind for the binge and purge learning that is the national standard now. Even though I was a child when it was enacted, my mom worked in education her whole life and often cited NCLB as the start of the downfall of education in our state.

  Teachers had to start “teaching to the test” instead of teaching what actually mattered. I don’t mean the classroom’s test, I mean the standardized test that we all had to take once a year and everyone hated.

  One of the cool things you could do on the Xbox 360 was put your own music on it and then play that music over the game audio, so a friend and I put Let the Bodies Hit the Floor on repeat while playing Dead Rising on night. We probably heard that song 40 times that night.

  For sure. I tell anyone that will listen not to use Healthy Paws for their pet insurance. Ever since they were bought by private equity, things have been a steady flow downhill. The most recent bullshit they pulled is dropping all pets over 10 years old down to 70% reimbursement and doubling the deductible from $250 to $500.

  And I can’t just change insurance because pet insurance companies are still allowed to deny claims based on pre-existing conditions. I’ve moved my younger healthy dog to a privately owned company, and hopefully they won’t go to shit.

  When I was a in high school Staples ran a deal for a 64GB flashdrive for $32 (1/2 off). My mom and I each bought 1 and it was such a steal! I felt like the coolest nerd at school with so much capacity! I considered trying to install UT2004 on it to play at school (I never did but knew nothing about computers and thought it’d work at that age).
