What we really need to do is figure out how to make public transit profitable to the automobile lobby.

Scarcity is a fact of life. Med students in capitalism are incentivised by survival. You need this job to live. Under a socialist system, you don’t need this job to live, so the pressure to compete is less. So the volume of junk research would be less.

That’s hilarious that an entire generation of morons(my generation) only heard the word bunghole from Beavis and Butthead.
- Comment on They don't make 'em like they used to 2 months ago:
So the word bung hole was used for something else in the past?

If you’ve ever went to med school, you’ll know most people do medical research not for the love of research, but because it’s great to put on a resume. If thousands of med students and their mentors are only trying to get published for their resume, then the quality of the research is irrelevant for their purposes.
Basically, capitalism is the problem.

Whatever assumptions you have about the universe and other people are wrong. They all want to connect and love/be loved.
- Comment on I get that america is failing if it's duty to suppress the rise of fascist but did the rest of the world just put all its eggs in the america basket? 6 months ago:
America spent a century burning all the other baskets and demanded that everyone store their eggs in the American Basket™. All resistance was met with violence openly or covertly.

Yeah I guess ban and boycott mean different things to me, but you’re right. Functionally this is a boycott and I support boycotting this movie. Fair point.
- Comment on ‘Snow White’ Banned in Lebanon Due to Gal Gadot Being on Country’s ‘Israel Boycott List’ 6 months ago:
Mein Kampf actually isn’t banned in the US or most of the world. It’s banned in Germany for obvious reasons.
- Comment on ‘Snow White’ Banned in Lebanon Due to Gal Gadot Being on Country’s ‘Israel Boycott List’ 6 months ago:
Lol fascism got into power because there is a revolutionary mood in the air and the capitalists have spent a century banning the idea of socialism at every turn. I feel very confident that socialism would have become popular if there wasn’t an active effort to stymie it’s adoption by the masses.
So yes the marketplace of ideas is rigged.

Banning books, like banning movies, is a great way to admit publicly that your position is so weak you can’t tolerate any dissent. Let the power of your ideals stand on their own.
