  Jesus, I’ve been consciously aware of the fact that I’ve fallen into this exact trap, again. Honestly didn’t really know if others were trapped in the same cycle.

  For me, the issue is that there’s no viable counterpart to many of the reddit communities I used to enjoy. There’s more general lots, sure, but so few that actually touch base on the same familiar level.

  Maybe it’s time to walk away.

  Going a bit off topic into movie, but he simply isn’t Jim Gordon in the Batman films. Straight up. Does not fit in any way. I don’t look at him and see Gordon. I see Hingle. And I don’t like Hingle.

  That stems morstly from his Murder She Wrote appearances, where I always find him to be the weak link in the guest cast. (To somewhat bring it back on topic).

  For me, Blake’s 7 sits in both camps.

  The warnings about authoritarian reigimes feel more relevant than ever. And the depictions of troubled heroes with deep flaws that get worse, rather than better, was so ahead of its time.

  I have a nostalgic fondness for the original effects, but yeah, the abysmal budget does show its seams so much of the time. I’m pleased with the CG of the blu-ray remaster for the most part. I’m not a snob who gets uppity about the digital realm after all.
