- Comment on If I invented a shirt that caused cameras to be damaged when filmed/photographed, would I be committing a crime by wearing the shirt at events with cameras? 5 days ago:
There, technically, hypothetically, could be a situation where such shirt is possible. But it would require a bug in the camera firmware, which would probably work on just one camera model. For example, a shirt with a pattern that tricks the camera into detecting more faces than it was designed to, causing a buffer overflow and a crash. Reasonable, although extremely unlikely

That’s what I’ve noticed as well. They keep the old stuff around for as long as they can, because some software made 30years ago is critical to our society so they need to support it or we’re doomed
- Comment on Begun the kernel wars have 1 week ago:
Yep, they’re planning to create a new way to do it, not disable the old way.
And I think that a decade for disabling the old way is optimistic - Comment on Flipper Zero 'DarkWeb' Firmware Bypasses Rolling Code Security on Major Vehicle Brands 1 week ago:

Saaameee!!
Also sometimes in the dream I pee in a weird place. Like, someone tells me where the bathroom is and it’s just some room without toilets or anything so I just pee in the corner of that room. - Comment on Day 365 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing (One Year Anniversary!) 4 weeks ago:
Congratulations!
I never comment on your posts, but I always at least skim through any that I see. It’s nice to see what someone else has been up to.
As a little feedback: I like the (relatively) short text version, I wouldn’t want to watch a stream or even a video. Text post is more chill and I can easily view it on my phone.
So, thanks for sharing and good luck on the next year!

You’re not supposed to interrupt nature. I know that it might seem cruel, but the snake also has to eat and you don’t want to upset the balance of the ecosystem

- Comment on Why don't these code-writing AIs just output straight up machine code? 2 months ago:
Also, not everything runs on x86. For example, you couldn’t write a website in raw binary, because the browser wouldn’t run it. Or maybe you already have a Python library and you just need to interact with. Or maybe you want code that can run on x86 and ARM, without having to generate it twice.
As long as the output code has to interact with other code, raw binary won’t be useful.I also expect that it might be easier for an LLM to generate typical code and have a solid and tested compiler turn it into binary

You make valid points and I see now how what I posted wasn’t the best thing to post, so thank you for that.
I hope you have a nice day
