- Comment on US Energy Secretary Chris Wright: “I'm thrilled to report that after 35 years, on July 4th, we will end the subsidies for wind and solar projects” 1 week ago:
I also dont like it in general. mainly because as an ex-server i know most dont report at least a percentage of cash tips. and i assume the worst when it comes to businesses who will keep wages lower to advertise tips that are no longer taxed (up to a certain amount).
- Comment on "influencers" are setting us back 1 week ago:
Based on what I see in this thread, I find more of an issue to be media. Mainstream media can walk the line of truth and falsehood and make people think a certain way. Anyone who sees that can be redirected to an online source, which can be anybody from Jane/John Infantbrain to legitimate scientists. Being an influencer doesn’t preclude being a specialist, academic, etc., but the average person isn’t going to determine or care for the difference.
- Comment on Apple that makes eunuchs 2 weeks ago:
I want to use this meme to draw attention to the fact that many fruits have a lot of varieties. Usually, people know this because of wines and grapes, since concord, pinot noir/grigio, chardonnay, nebbiolo are all different kinds of grapes and are vastly different. The same is true with apples too, but most people are familiar with the few they can pick at orchards. If there was an apple that could do what’s described in the meme, I wouldn’t be particularly surprised.

Alpha male when full release male walks in: 😧
- Comment on I guessed 1 month ago:
I’d never be able to be the one to pull the metaphorical or physical trigger when it comes to eating any animal. I love animals way too much. But damn some meats are just so good that it made it difficult to go fully vegetarian/vegan.
- Comment on Guys, am I alpha? 2 months ago:
The masculine urge to become feminine
- Comment on 3 months ago:
Absolutely. But I doubt companies would agree to even try that. They’d rather compete for the spot of “the launcher everyone goes to” (and fail).
- Comment on 3 months ago:
I agree. But I’m also keeping in mind that this is the situation capitalists claim to want: competition for everyone to continually improve. They just missed the part where they were supposed to improve and not make things worse. Aside from that, with all the major sites people think of like EA and Epic, it makes things even more difficult to topple that monopoly. Everyone wants to have their games in a convenient place. Having competition is incompatible with what players would want, because they’d need eight different launchers for games. I’m fully content with cycling itch and steam when I want what one or the other offers. For what I imagine is most people, it’s easier to use just one list/site that already has everything.
- Comment on I just want juice, is that so much to ask? 4 months ago:
For myself, it depends on where I look and what store I’m in. Sometimes the international section can get me soursop juice. Locally owned stores have a better chance of variety.
- Comment on I just want juice, is that so much to ask? 4 months ago:
I’m more annoyed that stores can have entire “juice” aisles, but only the last 10 or so ft. are 100% juice, only 2-3 ft. of which is organic. The rest are juice flavored drinks.
- Comment on Can some please explain to me why it is that your health insurance can deny you medication, even if your doctor says you need it? 4 months ago:
I have a relative who is a doctor. Had a claim denied once from someone that was not a doctor. Next: denied by someone not actively practicing in the field. Then denied by a doctor with no experience in that specialty. Only after all of that was it approved. They’ve also been picky about order of operations, such as not covering an MRI because there wasn’t also an order for a CT.
- Comment on Make a note 4 months ago:
I avoided this mistake by giving up (I only had two with me anyway). It took six hours to feel my buzz and it only lasted a few minutes.
- Comment on [deleted] 4 months ago:
I mean, isn’t that supposed to be the point? Until progressives get in a position to do things, we should slow the democrats from sliding right even more.
- Comment on How does this thing work? (wrong answers only) 4 months ago:
It actually came from WWI, and it used to be called “gaslamping,” since that’s what they had used at the time.
- Comment on Hostile architecture 5 months ago:
Now, I had read this title as “horticulture architecture,” and I was wondering if a tree was supposed to go in the middle or something or where the tree pun would be.
- Comment on Anon tries to understand credit scores 6 months ago:
There’s also an element of whether or not the lendee can reliably make payments. Always having late fees doesn’t show that you’re able to reliably make companies money. And when you’re making payments on time without fees, they still get money from the fees they charge the business. So using and paying back is still good for them. It’s still all about the money, because it always is in the US.

Heavy Update, Pikmin 5, New Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Devil Survivor 3, Digital Devil Saga remaster, a variety of sequels but actually done right instead of being butchered
- Comment on Thanks, Google. Very cool. 6 months ago:
I don’t even hate the concept of the rewinds; they just mostly suck. The one for Discord was basically just “heres who you chatted with most, the server you sent most messages in, and how many emojis you sent.” I don’t care. Youtube and YTMusic have one. Spotify added an AI Wrapped podcast last year. Even the NYT Games app has one.
- Comment on Anon is a fan of GabeN 6 months ago:
As a fan of TF2, I’ll quote another greentext: “does nothing, competition keeps shooting themself in the foot.” It was about Overwatch vs TF2, but it’s mostly similar.
- Comment on 7 months ago:
That’s generally how I follow it also. Though I add the stipulation that they’re enjoyable hours, and it’s not hardline. I know not every game can be measured that way. If it’s a particular genre or series, l might take the dive anyway. For indies, it goes even further than that. Some I track for years before release, so I pre-order as soon as it becomes available, just to support as much as I can. So $/hr is a good baseline, but it’s deeper than that.

I literally did not see it until you said that. I always saw an owl.
- Comment on This man is suffering 8 months ago:
If no one ever told me what Hooters was about when I was younger, I absolutely would have gone to one as an adult thinking it would involve owls. Like a cat cafe, but owls.
- Comment on You can only bring back one. Which do you choose? 11 months ago:
This is probably true, but I remember Blockbuster was good at renting out trash movies. While Netflix does this also, some of them no streaming service wants to or can pick up today. Like the old Mario movie or the weird Red Riding Hood movie with Henry Cavill. That being said, I still wouldn’t bring it back.
- Comment on Anon loves The Lord of the Rings 1 year ago:
Not a videogame, but I’d argue it could very well be the case for Pathfinder, D&D, WH, or any other tabletop system in which you really get invested.

I just like the way it feels. Though because of all the risks, I wouldn’t do it except at home or similar environments.
- Comment on 2025 be vibin' 1 year ago:
Yeah, that’s what I mean. To work anywhere in my field, I’ll need to pack up and move, finding an apartment on my own and still taking care of myself, while on a salary that’s not particularly great.
- Comment on 2025 be vibin' 1 year ago:
Yeah, I loved graduating with an environmental degree, and the only relevent jobs being hours away.

It’s easy for me to remember. I made a cute soundtrack for an anniversary. I miss that relationship sometimes, but I try to convince myself leaving helped me grow.
