I’m at the basket stage but don’t see an option to not add my details to the public database like I did on names.co.uk. Do you know if that’s an option.

That’s a good point I used to see him all the time and chatted with him some.
Last I spoke, in public comments in here, he had completed his move to the UK (where I live too) so perhaps he’s just been busy with all the changes.

Yes, but that’s not really why they removed him.
Plenty of horrible people ruling countries that America has no interest in removing as it doesn’t suit their needs.

I don’t know if it’s effective, it’s too early, the trial has even began. What I do know is artists make statements whether I agree with them or not.
It doesn’t exist in this country yet. Don’t forget we’ve had over a decade of Tory cuts and particularly to the NHS, they’ve privatised more and more parts of it so it doesn’t seem to unrealistic that with our special relationship we will end up in a similar place.
Look at dentists. Woefully underfunded and so many dentists move to private practice making finding an NHS dentist an insurmountable task for many people.
- Comment on Luigi Mangione, accused of US CEO murder, depicted in London mural 1 week ago:
People supporting something you don’t agree with doesn’t mean they’re doing it for popularity points, just the same as you supporting something that I don’t wouldn’t have me saying you’re doing it for points.
Shocking but people have beliefs, whether right or wrong.

What? I don’t typically find males attractive and I was supportive of this man’s actions way before I knew what he looked like.
Also, isn’t it a bit too soon to say he hasn’t accomplished anything through his violence. I mean at the very least he’s sparked a massive discourse about how Americans have a fucked up health industry. This is all while the media pretends he doesn’t exist anymore because they realised that sympathy for Brian Thompson was… lacking to say the least.
- Comment on Physicists vs Normal People 1 week ago:
I am not smart but this is what I get from this meme.
It’s a play on how physics describes acceleration. In physics acceleration is just about speeding up but any change in velocity.
So:
- Gas = Positive acceleration
- brake = negative acceleration
- steering = velocity takes speed and direction, so acceleration.

Of course it is, I knew I couldn’t find the right word but as I’m getting older I don’t have the patience to try and find the right one.
Does clinically work just as well though?

- Comment on How did you get your job? 1 week ago:
I feel lucky to be in the position I am, especially given my sketchy past and shaky start to life and I can’t stress that enough to others who may see this.
What about yourself, what do you do? And do you enjoy it?
- Comment on How did you get your job? 1 week ago:
Thanks. They really are.
I’m a software developer with 4 others and two owners who also code most of the time.
We are consultants so we get approached my clients exclusively via word of mouth. They treat the clients just as fair as they treat us so we get lots of repeat work and recommendations. Quite a large local authority too which is nice.
We can be making a whole host of different applications which I don’t want to disclose here in case that isn’t something I am allowed to discuss. Basically though if you could think of a system for a business then we could make it.
Not that I am the smartest person but one of the owners is the smartest person I’ve ever met and I don’t believe there is anything they couldn’t build.

It’s a long story so I will try and bullet point it as I don’t have a lot of time to answer.
- Mid to late thirties and I’m thinking I’m a failure at life. Think I have ADHD but never diagnosed. Had 50+ jobs to this point and I always quit or lose them for poor attendance etc, mix in a little fraud to supplement wages.
- Apply to an insurance company and begin training. Someone I had screwed over (I am a better person now) reported me to management and they fired me.
- decided to apply to Apple as a Christmas temp and get hired for 3 months.
- excel at being faux extrovert and apply for Genius Bar as a Technical Specialist. Get hired.
- Begin work at the Genius Bar where I thrive cause being a fake extrovert actually makes you happier at times, but you leave work drained.
- Realise we have healthcare and seek an ADHD diagnosis, which I got.
- surrounded by talented people and infinite support from management I decide to do a software development bootcamp.
- excel at coding as I had always been interested and I am even at a higher level than the teacher and they’re blown away by my projects.
- suck at interviews and so do another bootcamp, 😔, as this one also get you interviews.
- excel at this bootcamp too and still suck at interviews.
- must have gone for 30 jobs and didn’t get any.
- start to feel down but finally get hired to a small company.
- life really isn’t any greener over here and I still struggle to maintain happiness.
- company I work for is excellent. All about work life balance and the work is secondary to us.
- been 18 months. Got a pay rise after 1 year. Then 6 months later we all get a pay rise again and a reduction in hours.
- we only work 33 hours a week now with 21 days holiday which goes up one day each year until you’re at 25 days.
- don’t have to lie about why I am sick. If not having a good mental health day then I tell them and I am not expected to work.
- Comment on Michael Sheen buys £1m worth of people's debts 2 weeks ago:
At the risk of being downvoted here is what an LLM says for someone based in the UK. It looks like there are some regulatory licenses we would need to but I am down to try this.
Setting up a debt acquisition company in the UK to buy and forgive debt is a noble idea, but it involves navigating some legal, financial, and regulatory challenges. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get started:
1. Incorporate Your Company
• Structure: Register a private limited company (Ltd) through Companies House. This structure limits your personal liability.
• Name and SIC Code: Choose a unique company name and use an appropriate SIC code (e.g., 64999 for financial intermediation not elsewhere classified).
• Directors and Shareholders: Appoint at least one director (can be you) and determine share distribution.
2. Register for Financial Regulation
• FCA Authorisation: You’ll need authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) since debt purchasing and management are regulated activities. Apply via the FCA website and expect a fee.
• Consumer Credit Licence: Obtain a consumer credit licence if you’ll be dealing with consumer debts.
3. Develop a Business Plan
• Mission Statement: Clearly state your goal to buy and forgive debt.
• Funding Strategy: Determine how you’ll finance the purchase of debt (e.g., donations, grants, or investor backing).
• Debt Acquisition Strategy: Focus on purchasing heavily discounted debt, often found with collection agencies looking to offload defaulted accounts.
4. Secure Funding
• Donations or Crowdfunding: Platforms like GoFundMe or Kickstarter can help raise funds.
• Grants: Research grants for non-profits or social enterprises.
• Investors: Look for impact investors interested in social good.
5. Buy Debt Portfolios
• Debt Brokers: Contact brokers who sell distressed debt. They usually sell for pennies on the pound.
• Types of Debt: Focus on unsecured consumer debt (credit cards, medical bills) for easier acquisition and forgiveness.
• Due Diligence: Review the legality and status of debt portfolios before buying.
6. Forgive the Debt
• Notification: Inform debtors in writing that their debt has been forgiven with no tax consequences.
• Debt Registry: Ensure the debt is marked as resolved or forgiven in credit bureaus if applicable.
7. Tax Implications
• Corporation Tax: Even if forgiving debt, you may still owe tax on donations or other income.
• Gift Aid: If you register as a charity, you can benefit from Gift Aid on donations.
8. Compliance and Reporting
• Annual Returns: Submit financial statements and annual returns to Companies House and the FCA.
• GDPR Compliance: Handle debtor information in line with GDPR regulations.
9. Marketing and Transparency
• Website: Create a transparent website detailing your mission and impact.
• Impact Reports: Publish reports on debt forgiven to build credibility.
Would you need more detail on any of these steps?
- Comment on Michael Sheen buys £1m worth of people's debts 2 weeks ago:
I mean it should be feasible. Once you work out what the costs involved in setting up a company. There is a likely a process where you bid against other companies to buy debt. Then you just get to send people nice letters saying you won’t chase the debt or you’ll write it off.
- Comment on Michael Sheen buys £1m worth of people's debts 2 weeks ago:
Only cost him £100,000 too. He started debt acquisition company so you buy debt for pennies on the pound.
The article also says:
Sheen said he did not have £100,000 to “throw around” and therefore wanted the project to be “effective”

This is my approach to hobbies. I spent two years kinda learning Spanish n Duolingo and had a 2 year streak, but then I just stopped and wasn’t mad cause the goal wasn’t to learn Spanish it was just something I was interested in at the time and was fun.
I’m all about journeys and doing what is fun at the time but I’m not forcing myself to finish things if I don’t want to. Maybe I’m broken but I have lots of fun and never get bored.

I despise adverts and see them as an attack on my eyes, especially irl.
That said it’s odd that I find the ones in Times Square or Piccadilly Circus (London) quite fascinating when near them. Kind of don’t mind them as they’re concentrated in those areas and well known for them. Just an interesting thought I had.
