I need a geoguesser to tell me what part of Germany that bottom picture is and explain to me why it’s Bayern
Good thing this horrible storm is almost over!

I’m no geoguesser, but I can inform you that I took it myself from my home that’s more than 800 km from München and thus nowhere near any part of Bayern 😁

Oh man 😔 Which country we talking about?

Probability of rain% * area covered by rain% = Rain% you see in weather apps

I bet there was no rain at 2:30 so it’s correct

At best half-correct, since something that has not started can’t end.

When they say 30% of main they mean 30% of the models predicated rain somewhere in your area. It might be raining a mile away.

Also, meteorologists learned a long time ago to hedge on the side of rain, since people are mildly annoyed when you say it will rain and it doesn’t, but fucking pissed when you say it won’t rain and it does.

Quiet with your logic!

It’s fun to know though I think.

Yeah, making fun of seemingly incongruent information is much funnier than being reminded of how meteorology works!
Though to be fair, the latter IS also fun and rewarding 😁
