When they say 30% of main they mean 30% of the models predicated rain somewhere in your area. It might be raining a mile away.

Yeah, making fun of seemingly incongruent information is much funnier than being reminded of how meteorology works!
Though to be fair, the latter IS also fun and rewarding 😁

Also, meteorologists learned a long time ago to hedge on the side of rain, since people are mildly annoyed when you say it will rain and it doesn’t, but fucking pissed when you say it won’t rain and it does.
