Because if these rich can get scammed, your lovely retired grandparents/parents can get scammed too, and have no way of making that money back. They might literally have their lives ended early by scammed reducing their quality of living.
Rich =/= evil
Sympathy? No. But no parades either, because most bad actions are still bad, even if that particular victim deserved it.
What happened?
I think this is just in response to a post that was posted earlier about the same topic; it was either a meme (e.g lemmyshitpost) or an “unpopular opinions,” i can’t remember which.
Are they scamming the rich to help the poor? I don’t have any sympathy for rich people falling victim to scams, but I wouldn’t throw a parade for someone who just did something selfish.
Just because they shit on a bigger piece of shit doesn’t excuse all the shit they’ve dumped on regular people.
For the first time in my life, I have the sudden urge to listen to dave matthews band.
Instead of listening to them just steal a tour bus and dump the septic tank off the nearest bridge.
This is a slippery hill into those pedo hunter groups where people just want a reason to abuse someone else and be glorified for it

I was thinking more like someone who electonically robs Meryl Lynch or something. and take that money and donates it to a bunch of charities. Not just the write off charities corporations use.
It may start off that way but you’ll quickly have copy cats with less than noble intentions
Why shouldn’t we?
Is understanding another’s point of view ever a bad thing?
Does feeling sorry for a scam victim mean we can’t feel proud for the scammer?
Do feelings and emotions need to be bound by logic?
Do we not experience conflicting emotions, simultaneously?
