These storms are only getting worse. Good thing they are voting for people that believe in climate change, funding FEMA, and providing social services. Oh, they’re not? They’re still blaming Obama? I guess the 3 brain cells that the entire south shares aren’t helping.

Not gonna lie, I’d elect a guy who can control hurricanes. That’d certainly be an interesting person to lead peace talks. Not to mention that everyone would constantly beg them to dress like storm.

Three brain cells? Two of them are vertically integrated genetically like having a Kuato tell you it’s two people in a trench coat and the third one belongs to the orange cat.

In the case of recurring floods, homebuilders buy flood insurance and it pays to rebuild the entire house. So they get to stay where they want, and get a new house every 20 years.

Here on the Mississippi they actually offered to buy peoples houses, I’m sure at a shit market value and told them they either take it and move or they won’t get relief my money anymore because they clearly know they live in a place that constantly floods. I have to agree with that, if it’s like a 100 year thing yeah ok. When you expect your house to be flooded yearly, it’s on you.

The house I used to live in is over 100 years old and still standing, it’s not like the hurricanes hit directly very often. Insurance charges like they do, though. And it’s not like everyone can just easily pick up and move, where exactly?

Humans live on the coast for a reason. All over the world, population is clustered on coastline all over the world.

This feels like victim-blaming. How can you tell a significant percentage of the US that they can’t live there any more? Where are they supposed to go? Kansas?

No it’s worse than that. The insurance, when it even pays out, only pays for rebuilding there. No option to take the money and move. The only options are rebuild there or take a complete loss.

        FEMA would definitely move you.
