I never understood the reason for open showers. “Enjoy your wet bathroom.”

In Asia the whole bathroom is designed to get wet with a drain in the center

It is the same in the nordics as well.

I went to korea once, and I’m still dreaming of having a shower like the ones I encountered there. It’s a totally different experience.

Why? It never dries in that humidity.

British? I swear the Brits still think it’s the feudal times with their two spouts sinks, half enclosed showers, light switches outside the bathroom, and of course driving on the incorrect side of the bloody damned road! Yes I bitter much… at least the French have the food to make up for their eccentricities.

You’re missing the point, though. For the British, the suffering is what gives life meaning.

The sinks make sense for the way houses were built with that tank for the cold water in the attic. New construction shouldn’t have two tanks but I used to live in a house that had this set up and once I understood how it was built I at least understood the need for it at the time.

Bloody British practicing personal choice and practicability rather than arrogance. They should just get bigger houses, duel sinks in every bathroom, change the light trims with every passing trend. Pull up the bootstraps and stop suffering.

I have this. I just ended up installing a curtain rod and a shower curtain that I remove weekly to avoid pulling off tile via gradual pressure fusion. What a worthless fucking shower

    I don’t like doors.

Doors put up a barrier between human and nature.

    Get rif of doors.

If you cold - they cold. Let nature in

You should be able to get a glass half door that clips on to give you a little more protection.

You could also get a more downward shower head

  • voidsignal@lemmy.world ⁨2⁩ ⁨days⁩ ago

Imagine. just imagine, you could take that shower head in your hand and aim, instead of having it stuck to the wall. Shocking, I know.

…Why would I want to do that?

The title also describes what happens when I’m alone with my wife.

They can for sure work, but as others have said you need room. When we built our house we put no tub in the master bathroom just a monster shower which fully supports our no door life.

We have two of those in our home, I installed small rings in the water tube, so that much less water comes out. Now, even our guests do not completely sprayed the bathroom . Added advantage: better for the climate.
