This smells like an advertisement. Nobody’s even played the game how can we know it over delivers?

Really shows that people some read past the headline.

I’ve read it (from here: https://archive.ph/ci9vj#selection-591.0-859.53 because I don’t want to give them the clicks). And? I agree with @chickenf622@sh.itjust.works , it smells like an advertisement. In fact, it doesn’t just smells, it practically screams like corporate propaganda.

If the headline looks like an ad I’m not going to waste time reading the article. As much as I too don’t like discussing an article without actually reading it I do have to decide if I want to spend my time reading it. Basically I think the title is bad and if that’s not what the article is saying they should change the title. Could’ve been something like “Take-Two CEO Admits GTA 6 Could Have Cost More Than $80, but Rockstar Chose Restraint and Hopes To Overdeliver On Value”. Make it seem like it isn’t set in stone that GTA 6 is more valuable than the price.

That is a weird title, it talks about an upcoming release in the past tense.

They haven’t delivered shit yet. I’m still not even sure this one will be half as good as the previous games because the main writer left the company and didn’t work on 6. And 5 was already kinda sloppy, story wise. Kinda hard to do parodies of action movies when the action movies of its time were also going downhill.

This is why we shouldn’t quote CEOs

It’s why you should listen because they’re telling you how they’re going to abuse the consumer next.

Such a sacrifice! All hail!

Translation: We know we’re going to make billions on Shark Cards and don’t really care about the drop in the bucket that the box price represents.

They could price it at $5 and I still wouldn’t buy it. Take-Two and Rockstar can piss off.

Since people don’t read anything past the headline, which is why we can’t have nice things, in an interview the CEO started the following:
So, we’ve established an $80 price point and a $100 price point for the regular edition and the Premium Edition of GTA 6. And I think most people felt that if we wanted to exert it, we had a great deal of pricing power.
This is basically the CEO trying to justify the new, and very much sounding temporary, price floor for games. Taking what Nintendo started and trying to provide more bullshit to solidify the new price.
Probably going to be the new temporary price floor considering gamers are reportedly buying the 100 USD premium edition that has sliced content from the main game.

Ah yes, Take-Two, notorious philanthropists in modern gaming.

No, you’re thinking of Double Fine.

It‘s already thick in sarcasm through their phrasing alone
