Wholeheartedly agree with your take on CK3. Considering how greedy they are with their DLC policy, you‘d at least think they‘d be able to get proper multi-core optimizations into their engine so games don‘t grind to a halt lategame…
I did the Lingua Franca achievement in CK3 before mods etc. were allowed for it (essentially a world conquest challenge), and lategame was crazy slow while my CPU was snoozing.
Also it feels to me like the more DLCs they add the more forced/unpolished it gets, the features don’t fit in nicely, but that‘s just my personal opinion. Also lots of oversights in text when I last played.
It‘s a great game regardless which honestly should be pirated, or the base game bought and pirate the rest. The DLC policy is just batshit insane. Don‘t they even have a monthly DLC subscription for some games? Like fuck off lol

I hope at least the ninja part plays like an actual assassin instead of brawling with half a dozen guards
- Comment on Nintendo Switch 2 finally officially revealed 5 days ago:
Yeah, I get that, I was just trying to say that the above is probably their reasoning in my mind. They‘re scared shitless to fuck the transition up, calling it „The Stuff You Guys Loved 2.0“ is the lowest risk move.
I like your Super Switch though lol

They wanna be very clear that this is their best-selling console ever but better, I would‘ve been surprised if they didn‘t just slap a 2 on it. There‘s so much riding on this for them.

My last new graphics card was a 1080, I‘ve bought second hand since then and will keep doing that cause these prices are…

The game has become more of a brawler‘s creed, I wish it was more about figuring out how to cleanly assassinate your target instead of leveling up to match the level of and fight a buncha goons…
I hope Shadows won‘t just be a bad Tsushima…

It‘s also crazy how they‘ve aged. Do top games nowadays look better? Yes. Do they look a decade better, though?

NFS Unbound… I was just trying to finish it lol

I‘m still mad at Microsoft but I‘m glad Tango gets to keep making games.

The original is such a hidden gem, my absolute favorite shop managing game. Its only downside was that the main story kinda was done too quickly. Less than ten hours IIRC.
This game really does deserve a proper (good) sequel.

i think i bought this game in summer for 15ish bucks and now they‘ve practically given it away on Steam last sale (3 bucks) and literally on Epic lol, absolutely fantastic game btw, great co-op fun
- Comment on Video Games Can’t Afford to Look This Good 3 weeks ago:
And I don‘t think games have to look that good either… I‘m currently playing MGSV and that game‘s 8 years old, runs at 60 fps on the Deck, and looks amazing. It feels like hundreds of millions are being burned on deminishing returns nowadays…

Game was hard for me to get into but once it clicked, it was awesome
- Comment on What did everyone grab during the Steam Winter Sale? 3 weeks ago:
A bunch of EA games they‘re practically giving away considering the 90% discounts (Mass Effect etc.), and a bunch of indie puzzle games (Cats Organized Neatly etc.) as well as some steeply discounted Devolver Digital games (Hotline Miami 2 etc.).
I think I paid the price of one full price game (70 bucks nowadays) for like 20+ titles, but also yet again lost the battle of the ratio of games purchased vs games played this year… Damn you, Gaben!
Now I‘ll just wait for Monster Hunter Wilds which is easily my most anticipated game at the moment and probably the first triple-A game I‘ll be getting on launch since Elden Ring.

Heroic Launcher should enable anyone who‘s wondering how to install games from different launchers on their deck.
I‘ve only done it for the Ninja Turtles game and it didn‘t work right away - had to follow a protondb entry from a few weeks after my initial attempt to install dependencies - so be prepared to tinker; it‘s not as hassle-free as a direct Steam install.
- Comment on What games have you sunk the most time into? 4 weeks ago:
Rocket League over a thousand, then Crusader Kings III about 600, then CS 1.6 and Monster Hunter World with 400.
CS 1.6 must‘ve started logging those stats after my „prime“ though, I basically played nothing else way back when lol

I loved the first one even though it‘s crazy punishing, I looked at the second one, saw a metric shit ton of dlc, and decided it‘s too big for me
Funny enough I also decided to skip straight to the third one, and let‘s say I wasn‘t too impressed, especially coming from the first game. Going from one cop lasering you down to a dozen cops doing a conga line around you taking a turn each to shoot a bullet at you is surreal. Completely different game.

On one hand I‘m worried about possible game direction influence on FROM titles, on the other hand I’m hopeful that maybe we finally get competent Soulsborne PC ports if Sony acquires them even if only for upcoming titles

Turning off invasions while still playing coop you mean? Cause offline mode turns off invasions (duh). I guess invasions are part of the thrill in their mind and after a random coop sunbro and I were invaded by a phantom while super low health and outta potions way into a dungeon in Dark Souls and managed to survive by hiding away together with no voicecomms, it‘s hard for me to disagree with them lol

That‘s certainly something they‘re gonna want to fix. I hope DF and GN pick up on this, seems like free views and I‘d love to hear what they got to say on the matter.

- Comment on Okami sequel - Project Teaser Trailer 5 weeks ago:
The version I‘ve got on Steam - which is seemingly the only one - is capped at 30 fps with no way of unlocking it since there‘s game logic tied to the framerate. The gameplay with its constant camera movement would certainly profit from a higher framerate, it‘s one of maybe five games that I‘ve played where the sluggish camera made me motionsick. And generally higher resolution assets and UI wouldn‘t hurt the game either. I certainly would get a remake if only so I could re-experience Okami at 120 fps without getting sick lol
- Comment on Okami sequel - Project Teaser Trailer 5 weeks ago:
I wouldn‘t even have minded a remake in this case, hope the sequel can do the franchise justice

The power button thing would be very disappointing cause it is a vital button that is expected to be pushed a lot… I hope you can figure it out whatever it is.

I had something similar before where my Deck was all of a sudden in a bootloop and I couldn‘t get it out of it until the battery had emptied itself, then it worked just fine again.
Let me know if you ever figure out what went wrong with yours, for my curiosity‘s sake
