I loved the first one even though it‘s crazy punishing, I looked at the second one, saw a metric shit ton of dlc, and decided it‘s too big for me
Funny enough I also decided to skip straight to the third one, and let‘s say I wasn‘t too impressed, especially coming from the first game. Going from one cop lasering you down to a dozen cops doing a conga line around you taking a turn each to shoot a bullet at you is surreal. Completely different game.

On one hand I‘m worried about possible game direction influence on FROM titles, on the other hand I’m hopeful that maybe we finally get competent Soulsborne PC ports if Sony acquires them even if only for upcoming titles

Turning off invasions while still playing coop you mean? Cause offline mode turns off invasions (duh). I guess invasions are part of the thrill in their mind and after a random coop sunbro and I were invaded by a phantom while super low health and outta potions way into a dungeon in Dark Souls and managed to survive by hiding away together with no voicecomms, it‘s hard for me to disagree with them lol

That‘s certainly something they‘re gonna want to fix. I hope DF and GN pick up on this, seems like free views and I‘d love to hear what they got to say on the matter.

- Comment on Okami sequel - Project Teaser Trailer 1 week ago:
The version I‘ve got on Steam - which is seemingly the only one - is capped at 30 fps with no way of unlocking it since there‘s game logic tied to the framerate. The gameplay with its constant camera movement would certainly profit from a higher framerate, it‘s one of maybe five games that I‘ve played where the sluggish camera made me motionsick. And generally higher resolution assets and UI wouldn‘t hurt the game either. I certainly would get a remake if only so I could re-experience Okami at 120 fps without getting sick lol
- Comment on Okami sequel - Project Teaser Trailer 1 week ago:
I wouldn‘t even have minded a remake in this case, hope the sequel can do the franchise justice

The power button thing would be very disappointing cause it is a vital button that is expected to be pushed a lot… I hope you can figure it out whatever it is.

I had something similar before where my Deck was all of a sudden in a bootloop and I couldn‘t get it out of it until the battery had emptied itself, then it worked just fine again.
Let me know if you ever figure out what went wrong with yours, for my curiosity‘s sake

- Comment on Making peace with liking very few games? 2 weeks ago:
I realized that I need a certain amount of time with a game to warm up to it or else I‘m always drawn back to known quantities. Seems like playing things I know is just more comfortable. I also realized that I really like racing games for a similar reason: I don‘t have to learn anything new about the mechanics/game, I just have to drive.

Counterpoint: Building something big in first person is a lot more bothersome than in 2D/topdown
I have Satisfactory and like it btw, I‘m just saying it‘s something to keep in mind. It‘s also a lot heavier on the hardware, obviously.

- Comment on What video game company/developer/publisher loves shitting on it's fans? 2 weeks ago:
I loved Rocket League, was top 1%, and quit it because of the casual game ban you eat when leaving poorly matched games. I already wasn‘t playing ranked anymore cause I reached my goal so I just liked to play casual games.
I didn‘t mind people leaving casual games or leaving myself cause the outcome of the match didn‘t matter, what mattered was whether it was a well-matched game that was fun to play or not. And if it wasn‘t, you left and went back into queue, and it took like five seconds to match a new game.
Which is also why I didn‘t mind if my team was leaving. I just shrugged, went into a new queue, five seconds later I was back in the game.
But nah, nowadays devs gotta have this weird obsession over forcing people to play matches out even if there‘s no stakes other than whether you‘re having fun or not and even though there‘s no victims here with the outcome being irrelevant and the queue timers being super low. It also doesn‘t matter how much time into a match has passed, the game‘s the same at minute 1 as it is at minute 3 or 5, you‘re not losing progress as in a MOBA or RTS match.
It breeds toxicity too: Instead of leaving, people now feel forced to stay, so they‘re just in there, pissed off, and take it out on their teammates.
Just allaround a dumb change likely initiated by a vocal minority of the playerbase.
Like, fuck quitting ranked games, but casual? Unnecessary.
Rant end. This change annoyed me af too when it happened, so I can definitely relate to OP.

- Comment on Guys, what did you buy during the Steam autumn sale? 3 weeks ago:
I‘m considering getting Sizeable and the collection of all the games the Hook guy has made - so basically a buncha puzzle games. I‘m also looking at Psychonauts and the „new“ NFS cause both are five bucks so I‘m like what the hell why not. And Hotline Miami 2, I‘m in the mood for some senseless violence. To top it off, Streets of Rogue and The Messenger. All of it together would come in at exactly 29.99 for me lol
There‘s other games I want more, but they‘re all still more expensive (or close to) than this whole bundle so it‘s not really worth it IMO considering the amount of games I still got anyway.
- Comment on What games have you put the most hours into? 3 weeks ago:
Probably League of Legends, I don‘t know how to check how many and don‘t really care, but I‘d be surprised if I hadn‘t spent more than in Rocket League which clocks in at 1100 hours. I don‘t play much of either anymore though. Counterstrike 1.6 is at 400 hours but that‘s gotta be a lie and way more as well lol

- Comment on Fields of Mistria review: A boring, soulless Stardew reskin 1 month ago:
Everyone can have their own opinion, but I also encourage everyone to form their own opinion.
In my book the game‘s a fantastic 7/10 cozy game. I don‘t think the game‘s passionless at all. Every Friday evening I‘m in the bar checking what the townfolk is up to and the content is already enough for me to be satisfied for the ten-ish bucks I‘ve paid, the promise of future content is just the cherry on top.
I wouldn‘t recommend this over SDV to someone who hasn‘t played SDV yet, but for someone who‘s done with it, I‘d recommend giving Mistria a shot. Not every game has to be a 200 hours timesink for me, and an hour in Mistria before bed is really just cute, fun, and relaxing - a great cozy game.
- Comment on I don't think it's possible for me to complete this Steam achievement 1 month ago:
Some games just put in bs achievements like these to tempt people who care about that to cheat or waste their time to a degree that would make anyone shake their head.
I think achievements should be a framework that ensures the player has the ability to verify whether they have seen all the content the game has to offer (think secrets or easter eggs, hard to find sidequests) and as such had the full experience. You got platinum? You’ve seen it all, thanks for playing, see you in the next one! They shouldn‘t be frustrating or disrespectful to the players time.
Arguably even difficulty achievements aren‘t great in terms of accessibility, although I do understand that those are quite literally „achievements.“
This is just my own stance on them.

Never update the firmware on devices you have no issues with (if you have the choice). I learned that the hard way when I updated my LG B2 this year and now it has VRR flicker at any framerate below its refreshrate… And ofc I can‘t downgrade.
Updates for big corporate stuff rarely come with useful features or improvements anyway, just with more ads.
I‘m ranting, apologies.
