I would be fascinated, while wondering how I screwed up so badly that I wasn’t in intimate communication with my own child.
If you found out that your son had actually been extremely wealthy for years, and you only found out decades later, how would you react?

Be angry about myself for not knowning my own child.

I’d be proud. I’ve raised a child that was successful, discreet, humble, and frugal. That’s a win in my book.

I’d be very happy for his success

I would be really happy that my kid is so successful. I’m not a father, but if I was, I’d want my kid to succeed and have a better life than I did. My only concern is why he felt the need to hide it from me. I’ve never been a money hungry guy, and I’d try to create an environment where my kid feels safe, and able to talk about what’s going on in his life. So if he felt the need to hide that from me, I’d want to know if it was something I did or failed to do so I can be a better father.
