I fucking know exactly what you mean. Its gotta be the way they develop them. The software controllers must have gone through some form of standardization for them to all feel so similar, maybe they use the built in Unity and Unreal shit for controller mapping. But you are so right with this entire explanation, AND WHY, WHY DO MY FRIENDS LIKE IT GOD IT FUCKEN SUCKS. Yet they won’t play on my self hosted Minecraft server. And honestly it sucks, this genre could be unique and interesting with each entry but it just doesnt. Everything from Icarus to Mines of Moria feels exactly the same.

Bro, go walk these canals along their entire lengths and measure the depth in intervals. Mark it down in a notebook titled “UK Canal Conspiracy” and put everything you find out about it in there. Go play the demo. I actually dont know why they did that cause the game itself is pretty good. So its hard to say. Usually if you can’t get someone to do this art thats what the publisher is for (for an example this is what Adult Swim did for Video Cult when they made Rain World) and they apparently have one.

If the natural instinct of human fucking beings was to just murder and cheat each other we would never have formed society to get into wars in the first fucking place.
