I have severe depression and constant thoughts of suicide. I have a serious self harm habit. I burn my arm so frequently that the top of it is mostly scar tissue. I should not be working, I should be in in patient therapy because it’s not a matter of if but when am I going to go too far and off myself.
I still have a job. I live in constant poverty, and live paycheck to paycheck, but I still have a job and support myself.

I didn’t know much about y2k, I was just a kid and my family wasn’t tech savvy and hated the idea of me ever touching a computer, which given my hobbies now is extremely ironic, but I know enough about the IT field to know a lot of people worked very hard to fix it.
I don’t know the extent of how bad it would have been, I’m a Linux hobbyist, not a technical engineer, but I’m sure it would have been bad.

They would have to wipe out the vast majority of people on the planet. Like the VAST majority. They’d be killing themselves too because they would be killing off basically the entire work force that holds society together. What little of humanity that remains would just be doomed to die a slower death, as nobody would be around to produce food, mine resources, manufacture goods, keep supply lines moving, maintain public infrastructure.
They’d just be signing themselves up to slowly starve to death once the food runs out and nobody is around to make more of it. Not to mention it’s not like the vast majority of people are just going to sit around and be genocided by these monsters. The war effort alone would be enormous, and whoever is left would be traumatized.
Definitely a solid shit post.

- Comment on If you found out that your son had actually been extremely wealthy for years, and you only found out decades later, how would you react? 2 weeks ago:
I would be really happy that my kid is so successful. I’m not a father, but if I was, I’d want my kid to succeed and have a better life than I did. My only concern is why he felt the need to hide it from me. I’ve never been a money hungry guy, and I’d try to create an environment where my kid feels safe, and able to talk about what’s going on in his life. So if he felt the need to hide that from me, I’d want to know if it was something I did or failed to do so I can be a better father.
- Comment on Anyone in the US also feeling extra suicidal after hearing the news today? 2 weeks ago:
I’ve honestly thought about it a lot. I’ve been struggling with self harm for years and all of the world news and seeing all the terrible things Maga is doing both to its own citizens and the world have made me ramp things up with the burning considerably. My whole left arm is pretty much just scar tissue at this point, it’s extremely bad.
I blame myself for it,even though it’s illogical. I didn’t vote for the guy but I’m American so this country’s sins are mine too. Sometimes I tell myself that if I die the world will be a better place because it has one less American in it.
It’s not healthy for sure but it’s more important than ever to know what’s going on so I keep watching and I keep on burning.
Plus in a sick way maybe it’s good in burning myself. It’s a small form of justice.

I use silly tavern a lot and am trying to learn how to self host. I don’t think the hate really stems from the tool itself. It stems from the people who are doing everything in their power to force everyone else to use the tool for everything including things that it is clearly not intended to be used for, while simultaneously using it for incredibly shitty things like replacing the jobs of everyone and anyone they possibly can, putting entire countries under mass surveillance, and absolutely destroying entire communities and the planet with extremely irresponsibly managed datacenters.
I think if Ai was not being so heavily abused and mismanaged, it would not be nearly as hated.
If a man with a hammer was going around town smashing people and their property, you would probably hate the person and not the hammer. Because of the nature of llms, it’s very easy to hate the hammer instead of the person wielding it. Which is great for the assholes at the top because they get to keep destroying the world with Ai while everyone blames the ai.
- Comment on Do people really "need" friends? 2 weeks ago:
Yes, you should cut toxic people out of your life. That doesn’t mean that every relationship on the planet is toxic and should be avoided. People who get amputation don’t just say “I didn’t even need that arm”. They get prosthetics, they go through physical therapy to try and adapt without the arm.
The difference here is unlike an arm, if a friendship doesn’t work out, you can make new friends. If you prefer being alone, there’s nothing wrong with that, but there’s a big difference between saying “I prefer to be alone” and “all relationships are bad and should be avoided”
- Comment on Do people really "need" friends? 2 weeks ago:
A romantic partner is one type of relationship often with the extra weight of that person being a romantic partner. A romantic partner ideally is a life partner you want to share the entirety of your life with. It’s a lot heavier than a friend.
A romantic partner is someone special who you will be spending the vast majority of your time with. Someone who you might star a family with.
A friend is less heavy, more casual. A friend is someone who you ideally can trust and talk to and who will support you and you them, but is not someone you are physically attracted to, or has an interest in being romantic with you or vice versa.
A healthy romantic partnership usually starts off as a friendship, and then over time turns into a romantic one. You can’t just meet a stranger and say "let’s spend our entire lives together, and have a family, and live together. At least not a romantic partnership you want to actually work.

Do you need friends, as in you will die without them? No. They are not essential to life. But humans are social creatures and having someone in your life that you feel safe enough to open up to, who can share in your interests and hobbies and who can be there for you when you are not doing good, is an extremely good thing to have.
Like I can totally survive without my left arm but life is going to be a lot more difficult. Same kind of concept but with mental health.
- Comment on If AI is so smart, how come it doesn't track the time and date? 3 weeks ago:
Because it’s not “smart”. It’s not intelligent at all. It’s not sentient, doesn’t think, it’s not even aware of what it’s generating. Llm stands for Large Language Model and it’s just a text prediction algorithm that decides what words should most likely come after other words. It does this just well enough to present to people who do not understand it as “intelligent”.
- Comment on Why do "assassins" or whatever always have a Copy of Catcher in The Rye on them or with them? I read the book and nothing about taking out people, well prolly catholics but that is it? 3 weeks ago:
It’s me. I’m doing it. I’ve been sneaking up to every assassin and ass ass an on the planet and gently tucking a copy of catcher in the rye into their back pocket. Yes it was me the whole time.

Well considering that’s an Ai image and everyone in it looks like the same dude in different desguises, I can’t really give you an accurate answer.
-
if you want me to go by the picture you posted, then your parents are deeply afraid that your friends are all just one guy who has consumed and assimilated multiple people and is pretending to be your friend in order to lure you into a secondary location to assimilate you as well, and are debating in private whether to call a priest or the military.
-
if you want an actual answer, I can’t really give you one because this is a generic Ai image and not something that can be used for a real basis for a grounded human answer.
In fact given that you used Ai to portray a friend group, my mind immediately wonders if you actually have any friends at all and this is all a deeply sad and unsettling way to farm imaginary internet points.
My personal headcanon is that you are the thing assimilating other people as you feed and grow and are posting here to desensitize us to your unsettling presence to make us easier to consume later.

- Comment on So, has age verification really become the new normal? 3 weeks ago:
You have absolutely f*cked yourself over by doing that. It’s not a matter of if that ID you just gave them is going to get leaked, it’s a matter of when and who. These ID verification companies are infamous for mishandling this kind of information and are huge easy targets for hackers.
I would highly recommend preparing for the worst now before it happens so when your ID does get compromised you already have things handled.
Do not give these companies your ID unless you really like the idea of someone POS using it to commit crimes on your behalf.
