During each American war of aggression, I think about this quote from ‘Lord of War’. I know it’s fiction, but it also describes reality and it hits very hard each time.
Yuri: But in the Iran-Iraq War, you sold guns to both sides. Simeon Weisz: Did you ever consider that I wanted both sides to lose?

Hey that was to fund terrorists to stage a coup in Central American countries who refused to let their nations be run by American monopolistic corporations, that doesn’t count!

old joke, first variation I found.
A reporter heard Bush and one of his underlings talking in the hallway: “Mr President, how do we know for sure Iraq has weapons of mass destruction?” Pres says “You think we’re stupid boy?” “We made copies of all the receipts!”

Just to point to the people that weren’t there yet, the US made a lot of noise on the press every time they “found” some of the chemical weapons they sold to Iraq in the 80s that were stored in UN-approved deposits because Iraq had no means of destroying them.
