A truly smart criminal wouldn’t get caught. So you could argue any of the unsolved crimes were “smart”. But equally likely that they were just lucky.
We always seen/heard/read about dumb criminals. Has the opposite ever been true a smart criminal? Not including that white collar crap?

Although Cunningham and several others were eventually convicted of crimes uncovered during the investigation, nobody has ever been held directly responsible for the robbery.

It’s true often. You don’t hear their story because why would anyone smart want to openly admit to crimes!?
Anything worth gloating about is probably something that without a statute of limitations or harms someone that can probably retaliate anyways.
