Loving the gore, but the combat looks really basic.
Looks like you just press square and Wolverine locks on and snaps to an enemy.
Looks neat. I’m a comic book fan, so I’ll probably pick it up eventually, if it ever goes on sale. Or not, if it sucks.
If you haven’t played X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I recommend it.
Damn, really? I remember playing the demo for it years ago, and liking that they made it violent, but I can’t remember a damn thing about it other than some of the intro cutscene.
If it sucks I’ll probably eventually get it through Humble Monthly.
You’d think someone could think up something better than a button mashing brawler for superheroes after 35+ years of video games. But apparently not.
It’s The Wolverine we’re talking about here. If there is any hero that deserves a brawler game it’d be him.
Besides, we’ve also had open world story driven adventure games with Insomniac’s Spiderman games.
This is true. I don’t think anyone wants a stealth game. My problem is spiderman was also a brawler, they always are. But you’re right, Wolverine is probably the one that should be a brawler.
Midnight suns isn’t a button mashing brawler.
Midnight Suns was a delight and I’m sad we’re probably never ever getting a sequel.
Midnight Sun is incredibly boring, though. It’s like 75% VN type crap and maybe 15% actual gameplay.
I mean i wouldn’t mind having dating sim with Wolverine, but going frenzy at the front line is his specialty.
Maybe Dispatch might fit your criteria?
the trailer are mostly from cutsenes, the actual gameplay is more like Animal Crossings
Looks like yet another Sony game for movie goers.
Traversal sold Infamous and Spiderman, let’s see what sells this one—I doubt it’ll be the combat.
Preanimated takedown moves, from the look if it.
Yeah, I’m gonna guess some kind of dismember system that fills up a meter and let’s you perform takedowns, which, in theory, wouldn’t be so bad—Ninja Gaiden had it.
Question is: are we going to get a proper combo system around it with proper risk/reward and freedom of expression, or are they gonna baby proof it? Combat looks grounded, so I’m guessing the latter.
I don’t see Wolverine launching enemies into the air and doing air juggles in a cowboy hat and jeans 😅
Either that or hyper violence. I’m getting Doom vibes for some of the fighting.
Actually… “Doom, but with mutants” could be interesting.
