Stop calling it “food”, FFS.

Gatekeeping food, of all things? Lol

“Gatekeeping” is the best you can come up with? FFS. You deserve to eat the trash they tell you is “food”. Jog on, son. 🤌🏼

FWIW, I’m not defending “fast food” in any way. 🤢🙇🏽♂️
Lightor@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
What should we call it “fast consumables”?
otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 weeks ago
The simple fact that we’ve accepted their engineered insinuation of “food” is why it’s still an industry — dying as it may be, lately. The entire species’d be better off if global gen pop wasn’t such a fuckin’ crab bucket of slack-jawed idiocy. gestures at certain others here 🤷🏽♂️

A Food-like Product

A friend of mine calls this tier of cuisine “biomass”.
otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 weeks ago
“Biomass” implies organic origins — precisely what this shit lacks, in general. 🤢
For example, Taco Bell was long ago restricted from referring to their taco stuffing as “meat” as it had/s lower than 20% “meat” by volume. (and even that’s below “prison grade” — which is already below dog food)
So, they call it “taco filling”, and people still slurp it down like always. Fucking morons.

Imagine getting people to eat (slightly, if anything) healthier because you are now more expensive than the actual freshly cooked food around your location.
As always, corpos have the biggest of brains.

I bought a filet o fish recently after many years and the thing fit within the palm of my hand. It had exactly one half of a cheese slice since that was enough to cover the entire fish patty.

Mc Donald’s… 5 years since I’ve spent any money there. Burger King one year. I still once in a blue moon go to Arby’s (which I think is the last one still making good food) and even rarer I will visit Taco bell ( can’t get the wife and I food there for less than 25) or Hardee’s. The days of fast food are over.

This guy likes the meats

Taco Bell isn’t terrible but yeah most of them can get fucked. Local fast casual is faster, better, and cheaper. Fast food literally has no value prop left.

Wait no way 😮😮

Youre just picking a target that has a higher public opinion. TB for those that eat there, consider it to be a better tasting food experience which has actually gotten better over the years. Demo man might turn out to be right…

Fast food used to be cheap AND convenient. Now it’s just convenient. The fact that I can get a McDonalds meal from the drive thru for the same price as getting a pizza delivered… why would I leave my house
apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
They aren’t that convenient anymore, at leasy here. Drive thrus and counter service are glacial in most fast food places. Legit Mexican restaurants cost less than taco bell and are generally faster, just for one example.
