Yeah, some of the Steam reviews on God of War Ragnarok were almost exactly like this.
“Oh, no! You have to use a third-party login to play your game! Get over it, it’s a great game, who cares about you having to go out of your way to arbitrarily create an account for a platform you’ve never used before!” - essentially.
Fucking shit eaters.

I understand. I was more of making the point that YouTube will continue to do this, and warning others to be prepared for the worst!

- Comment on Sony removes PlayStation account requirement from 4 single-player Steam games: Marvel's Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered 3 weeks ago:
Well, at first I was begrudgingly trying to find SOME way to not use it. I don’t want it, I don’t need it, and the game most definitely does not need it.
Then, after an hour of trying to find that avenue, I said, “Okay. I have a PSN account from way back on the PS3, so I’ll just fucking use that I guess.”
Cue to me finding my login stuff, trying to log in, getting a password reset prompt, click the reset password link, and wait for the email to arrive.
Dear reader, the email NEVER arrived, and then they would say that I had sent a request already and then I said fuck this, fuck Sony, I’ll just pirate the game.
Then, I was able to play the fucking game.

Thank you!
I’ve played through them before way back on the Xbox 360, but Steam had a sale for them a couple of years ago for like $20, so I couldn’t resist getting them for a superior platform.
The EA app is by and large the only thing that truly sucks about these games. I already beat Mass Effect 1 again, and damn is that game boring at times. The story is still great of course, but it definitely shows it’s age! Mods have alleviated most of what I hated (looking at you MAKO…) and now I am about 75% through Mass Effect 2. I’ve beat ME3 before, but it has been so long that I’m hoping it isn’t as bad as I remember.
I played Mass Effect 2 first at the time, because I was renting games from a local video rental place. Loved it to bits. It’s crazy being able to play it with Alec Ryder’s armor from Andromeda. Fits Shep to a T!

They were.
I bought God of War Ragnarok through Steam, and had a hell of a time trying to get past the PlayStation account. I spent an hour or two trying to do this, gave up, refunded the game, and immediately pirated the game.
No PlayStation login, and the game worked fine with whatever updates I could find.
Fuck that, and fuck Sony. You will not do that to me again. I can’t speak for others though. I’m sure they will eventually pull this scummy shit again, and we’ll be talking about it. Again.

Hey there! I’m also going through Mass Effect right now. The EA app is literally the only thing I HATE about trying to play through that game!
- Comment on EA lost $6 billion in market value, following FC 25 & Dragon Age underperformance news 4 weeks ago:
Dragon Age Veilguard was a bastardization of Dragon Age. Of course it was going to fail. You failed your core audience, you idiots.
If you wanted to make a Marvel version of a dark fantasy game, you could’ve made a new IP, instead of leeching off the brand.
- Comment on Cyberpunk 2077: Patch 2.21 4 weeks ago:
The body mod isn’t exactly the one I used, but to give you an idea of the mods I liked using at least.
There was also a garage mod that allowed you to tune the vehicles in the game, and a mod that makes the legendary ping hack back to its superior form from the original release before they started changing things.
Nexus Mods hosts a bunch of horny mods, and there is a toggle for it to help get the clutter out of the way. I keep it on because I think some NSFW is gore related, and I might be interested in those if they are decent enough.

Multiple data leaks have came about because of Facebook yet you don’t see anyone here saying anything about being happy to ban it. It’s so weird to see the disconnect. The true answer is for ALL of us to have actual data privacy laws enacted by our dinosaurs in government.
- Comment on 小红书 5 weeks ago:
Are you somehow not aware that Google/Facebook/Twitter literally do the same thing? Wouldn’t it make more sense to create a data privacy law so that everyone benefits? I don’t understand why that’s so hard to grasp for some of these folks.
- Comment on 小红书 5 weeks ago:
The data is stored on US soil, so whatever they are able to gather, the US government is allowing it. Which means… all social media. So, ban all social media then if it’s such a risk, right? Or… I don’t know… maybe make an actual data privacy law so no one can steal and hoover up your precious data?
- Comment on 小红书 5 weeks ago:
I’m… pretty sure people can like both open source and closed source things… “manipulating” yes. I’ve been so manipulated. I’ve been so manipulated that I think there should be actual data privacy laws. They got me.
- Comment on 小红书 5 weeks ago:
See, to me, it’s not irrelevant. Either make a blanket data privacy law, or shut the fuck up.
- Comment on 小红书 5 weeks ago:
I’m pretty sure most people who are doing this are trying, in their own way, to make a point.
It wasn’t about “national security”. It was about a large digital meeting place where ideas could be shared, or feelings and frustrations at their government could be seen and felt by others who felt the same. Big Brother doesn’t like that, unless it is on US Corporate Approved Social Media, where they can promptly shut you down, or get their algorithm to put post with specific keywords out of the eyes of as many as possible.
So, instead of creating actual data privacy laws, as they should have, they decided to attack TikTok, because Mark Zuckerburg got in front of congress during whatever case it was that brought his lizard ass in the room (maybe the Cambridge Analytica scandal?) and said that TikTok was more dangerous than his own platform.
There you go. It was never about “national security”, as there were much better ways to handle that than banning one single app.

While I respect what you are saying, now was not the time for people to be spouting all of that when a literal orange idiot, who everybody knows has a rabid fan base cult that would vote for him even if he shit and pissed on them, was running. It was just stupid. If Kamala had won, then immediately on inauguration day, we could all start voicing our opinions just as loudly as those people were doing before a major election. We would’ve had a whole 4 years to get together to do this to drive the point home further.
But no. We were too busy trying to get people to not vote at all, or to vote third party. This is the direct result of that.
Do I think Democrats are great? No, not really, especially now. It would have been a hell of a lot better than this god damn shit though.
Oh well. Too late now.

Yeah, when comparing to New Vegas, Outer Worlds fell flat for me. I’m sure it’s a fun game to some, but I just don’t see it when there are plenty of games that do it better.
- Comment on Anon expects more 1 month ago:
I understand, but it could just not be the game for you. I almost exclusively play RPG games, and this is THE game newer RPGs will have to compete with for me to give them anything over a 5/10.
I should mention that I played it from release to completion before they even released patch 3-4, and still enjoyed the hell out of it. Now they’ve included a few more classes, fixed a ton of bugs (that I never ran into surprisingly!), and have official mod support now. I can’t wait for me and my SO to play together to make our own story, as mine was nothing but good guy vibes the whole time, while SO is a little more chaotic than I am, and I am wanting them to be the main character so I don’t just do the same stuff all over again like I would if I played it singleplayer.
If you don’t mind me asking, what game has made you feel the way I feel about BG3? I’d be interested in looking into it!
- Comment on Anon expects more 1 month ago:
I’m glad that you enjoyed it! It’s just that as someone who almost exclusively plays these types of games (RPGs) it just didn’t hit the mark for me. Bland characters, bland story, bland companions, bland worlds, bland dialogue options (besides the ones for being low INT, those are actually funny!). I love what the vision was, but I just personally feel like they fell very short. Just my opinion though, of course!

Baldur’s Gate 3 gave me one of the most appealing experiences I’ve ever had playing a video game. It literally felt like a breath of fresh air coming from the rest of the industry. I tried to get into Divinity, but hated the combat so much I stopped playing as much, and then dropped it. I still didn’t love the combat in BG3, but damn, the rest of it literally blew me out of the water. The cinematics of interactions with NPCs, the freedom to do what the developers didn’t intend for you to do, but still allowed it anyway, and so much more. An actual amazing game that seemed to push what SHOULD be the norm for games going forward (RPG wise), but that requires actual writers, actual planners, and actual people who care about video games. That’s not something the big “AAA” studios like to have on their teams, because that costs money.
- Comment on Anon expects more 1 month ago:
The Outer Worlds was really not good. It had it’s moments for sure, but so do Skyrim, Oblivion, and Fallout 3. New Vegas was amazing though.

Atticus, I highly recommend getting the PC port of this game. Choose the Render96 option, and relive what the game probably looked like to all those kids back in the day. It also has some extra neat things like bringing in some of the move set of Odyssey, a mode that allows you to collect all the stars in the level in one go, and much much more. :)
