Dude was obviously baited into a staged situation. Words are worthless anyways. People that focus on words are imbeciles. Actions are what matter. Words are as hollow and meaningless as intentions.

Yep if Trump wanted those minerals so bad (borderline extortion) why did he and his lapdog immediately fuck up the meeting? Either he’s stupid (entirely possible) or it was a setup and they never planned for the deal to go through. Maybe trying to get further concessions from Ukraine.

First of all it was Trump who wanted and came up with the deal, why would it be “a setup and they never planned for the deal to go through”?
It was Zelensky that fucked up, went off script and tried to hijack the event, insulted Trump many times during the more cordial first 40 minutes.
1). Trump said USA gave most money to Ukraine, Z said no they didn’t, EU gave more, Trump said no we did, Z started arguing, Trump smiled, said well discuss it later, patted Z on the back.
2). Zelensky said the war was between Ukraine and Russia, and that USA could be allowed in negotiation after peace as a partner… And I think this really pissed off Vance and Trump.
3). Zelensky said that “maybe if you believe the Russian lies,” in response to one of Trump’s statements, as if he was on r/politics.
4). he trotted out those pictures, with that condescending tone, acting like Trump is just a big orange dummy that needs his kindergarten lesson in war. He literally talks to Trump like he is a child while handing him the pictures.
Think about #4 for a minute to get a grasp on the arrogance. Do you think pows were not discussed behind close doors? Of course they were. So Z trots out these pictures like Trump was unaware of the situation, handing him pictures like he was going to give Trump a lesson, and this might be when Vance started to lose his cool.
Also his little coke twitches became more apparent after some time.
He can’t pretend to be normal for 40 minutes.

True. For several reasons.
First of all it was Trump who wanted and came up with the deal, why would it be “a setup and they never planned for the deal to go through”?
That is a VERY common political method. “Stupid” suggestions that will never get accepted comes up every day for various reasons.
1). Trump said USA gave most money to Ukraine, Z said no they didn’t, EU gave more, Trump said no we did, Z started arguing, Trump smiled, said well discuss it later, patted Z on the back.
What was he supposed to do? Just accept it? If he does fight the lies, more people will think that Trump is right.
Now people saw that Trump had nothing to back up his claim.

Sounds interesting, I’d like to see that part. Can you provide a link with a timestamp? I tried finding it myself but found nothing.

It is very common to re-enact when the cameras are on. This was Trumps chance to show compassion.
I just rewashed that bit trying to see it from your angle, and I don’t see it at. He spelled out some stuff that any world leader shouldn’t need to be told, I assume that was for the cameras.
Although you could be right, that Zelensky is approaching Trumps childish language. But even if that is true, how is this something that would upset Trump? Most people appreciate when you use their own way of communication, except when their way is some variation of bullying.
I am perfectly willing to believe that they heard Zelensky say he was willing to resign, and saw an opportunity to get him to kiss the ring. They fucked it up through sheer ego. Art of the deal
And then there was MTG’s “boyfriend” pretending to be a reporter pretending to be a red carpet correspondent asking about attendee’s fashion choices. Truly the most irrelevant question/comment of the day.
When were these events not vetted if not scripted with lukewarm self-serving questions?
Did you see Blinken get even one difficult question while enabling genocide?

Remember that Zelenskyy was an actor before he was a politician.
The purpose of the staged show was to reinforce that Europe needs to protect Ukraine and can no longer rely on America.
Zelenskyy did a great job with his facial expressions. Really sold the emotions.
Now he’s in Europe asking for money and regrouping. The performance hammered home that America is out of the game. That was the point.
It is an action to dramatize and broadcast the mismatch in priorities between two world leaders who built their careers on television. Closing a relationship is an action. It was done on stage because that is a setting where these men are comfortable and where their fans are accustomed to seeing them.

Zelenskyy probably read the room and had a plan in case something like this was going to happen.
Zelenskeyy walked away from this showing that the breakup with the USA wasn’t his fault and that he was willing to explore costly options for peace provided there were security guarantees. He then immediately went to Europe to tie up his support there.
If the USA is no longer going to support Ukraine, that was a great show to shift the blame onto Trump.
