I remember a Commodore 64 with a 300 baud modem. 1200 was luxury.

We have a local chain of gas stations with 'The Market" food counters in them, they make really excellent deli sandwiches.

Since we’re talking about magic, maybe life that’s inside or attached to other life not disappeared by the snap gets a pass.
- Comment on If Republicans have Project 2025. Why don't Democrats have their own guide book? 2 weeks ago:
I can’t find the paticular document so that’s why I had already deleted my post.
I remember it was some document that my conservative acquaintances were all worried about. When Project 2025 came to light the liberal reaction to that reminded me of the reaction at the time to Hillary’s progressive plan. Really this would have been early 2000s and a “radical progressive” agenda would probably be considered mild by most today.

Accurate. But people need to be brave enough to embrace the truth even if they don’t like it. You can diplomatically say things like “I’m not so sure about that” and such without directly contradicting those people.

This sort of thing is pretty common in various industries, they let the money accumulate until it reaches a threshold.

- Comment on Gaming's "Toxic Positivity" Problem 1 month ago:
Negative comments are fine but players are too black and white, they will say a game is “trash” because they don’t like one thing about it. Often they haven’t even played it. I think too many gamers are overwhelmed by choice or just spoiled.

This is my app too, Sleep As Android. I have it set to softly play a cuckoo sound, it gradually gets louder if you don’t respond and starts vibrating at some point. But yeah it also has various options for those who need to outsmart their sleepy selves.

- Comment on Star Wars: Outlaws being a "AAAA Game" for 3 minutes 1 month ago:
People call RDR2 a masterpiece and yes it’s very beautiful and very detailed. But the gameplay systems and controls don’t really feel quite right to me, and I feel the same the same way about Star Wars Outlaws. Plus to me the games just feel similar when you’re wandering around big wide open areas.
- Comment on Star Wars: Outlaws being a "AAAA Game" for 3 minutes 1 month ago:
Same. It took me a bit to get the settings how Iiked them and figure out the gameplay loop. But now I think it is similar to Red Dead 2 or a Ghost Recon game. And it’s set on gorgeous Star Wars maps.
- Comment on rdr2 question 1 month ago:
As others have said, it does set you free eventually. Takes too long IMO. The world is really nice and beautiful. I never got totally on board with the control scheme and UI.
- Comment on How do I alleviate bitterness due to lack of intimacy? 1 month ago:
In addition to the advice already given, I would suggest you look at mental attractiveness as well as physical attractiveness. Physical attractiveness can be a ton of fun but then when you actually start living with the person if they aren’t mentally attractive/compatible with your personality then they can be really hard to live with. Look for someone genuine and kind and into the same sort of things you are.

- Comment on Why does the USA have so few legal protections for ordinary people, and how can we change that? 1 month ago:
I don’t know, but companies shouldn’t be allowed to merge if you call either of them and the wait time to speak to a person is more than 2 minutes.
Also companies should have customer conceriges, call them and explain your issue and they navigate the company infrastructure, resolve your issue, and report back.
- Comment on Does a clean PC run better than one with a lot of dust in it? 1 month ago:
Yes if a modern computer gets too hot the CPU will throttle itself and the fans will run faster.
If the computer is on the floor try to get it off the floor at least somewhat. Set it on a box or something.
- Comment on What is this plant? 2 months ago:
I know it as Periwinkle, it has purple flowers occasionally and is good as a ground cover. I plant it intentionally in shady places that tend to get weeds. I haven’t had any problems with it spreading into my yard.

Some sort of linked car-train lane that your car could use self-driving software to enter and leave would be an interesting concept. Like HOV but everyone is linked at the same speed.
