I love when people throw around the idea of Canadian provinces just being up for grabs, as if we want anything to do with what’s going on south of the border.

Russia would love that.

They could also be rabid. Rabies can cause bats to wander out in the open where you wouldn’t normally expect to see one. Approaching a bat in a situation like this not a great idea. A call to wildlife rescue is a good idea in any case.

This was a great read. What a monumental effort to emulate that device. The perseverance is inspiring, honestly.

Ideally the advisory is going out over the radio too. People will hear it while driving and then spread by word of mouth.

There’s multiple hundred seeders on the internet archive torrent for the video. There’s also multiple channels on YouTube histing reuploads.
The video is not going anywhere.

- Comment on METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER - Launch Trailer 1 week ago:
I’m glad they re-made the worst entry in the early era of the series and didn’t fuck with Sons of Liberty. That game is literally perfect. MGS3 is tedious AF. Still fun and better than a lot of games, but massively overhyped. Also, worst fucking camera system in the history of gaming in the original PS2 version. Truly atrocious.
I hope it turns out well, but I still doubt that I’ll play it.
- Comment on We can't keep making videogame stories for players who aren't paying attention to them 2 weeks ago:
Those are the best games in the series IMO. Sons of Liberty is a prophetic masterpiece.

Non-resident aggressively commenting on another country’s driving laws then shit talking foreign policy out of nowhere. Bold strategy, Cotton.
The fact is that a video call implies that your eyes are on the video. In this case while driving. Do you see how that’s problematic? Your argument is some weird whataboutism.
- Comment on California is debating whether or not to remove the bike lane on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. During the public hearing, a politician was driving his car 3 weeks ago:
The bridge is 4.3 miles. Average riding speed for a 30-35 year old rider is 20.8 mph according to Strava data. Let’s say its 15mph instead.
That’s a 28 minute ride at below average speed; 20 minutes at average.
That is not too long, as clearly evidenced by the people that use the bike lane.
- Comment on California is debating whether or not to remove the bike lane on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. During the public hearing, a politician was driving his car 3 weeks ago:
If their time is so valuable, maybe they should ride a bike instead of trapping themselves in traffic?
The average American commute is 41 miles round trip. I guarantee you that a large number of people stuck on that bridge every day have a much shorter commute, could ride a bike instead, and would actually spend less of their time commuting by doing so.
Those are the people you should be angry with because they’re the ones that are directly wasting your time with their frivolous driving trips. The more we get people riding bikes, the less problems those that are required to drive will experience.
Also, maybe if the average American car wasn’t a wasteful hulking behemoth there would be more room for more people on the roads. 🤷

Sons of Liberty is the most cohesive entry in the series IMO. Best story too; prophetic, really.

It seems like you don’t know the definition of the word truth or you’ve been taught an inaccurate version of it. They way you write makes me think that you read a lot online and I’ve noticed in the last five or so years that there seems to be a push by some people (typically with ulterior motives from what I’ve seen) to dilute the definition of truth to accomodate the propagation of their worldview.
The truth of the conversation is that the guy was wrong. Calamari is not caviar = True.
This idea of adapting the word “true” to conveniently dodge outright wrongness on a topic is a problem. You’re using the wrong word if you’re saying things like “my truth” or “your truth”. It would be more accurate to say “my/your understanding”.
As I mentioned before, the truth is something that exists outside of you. You refer to facts to describe the truth to the best of your ability. No one expects anyone to have a complete understanding about everything. Incomplete knowledge is just fine so long as you accept when others fill in the gaps or correct you.
Its OK to be wrong. If people accept their own fallibility, they grow with every conversation they have.

How did you get that from what I said?
Here lemme flip the script on you. If you can’t listen to someone and absorb information without immediately conjuring negative assumptions about them, you might not be fun to be with either.
The point was that facts are facts. The fact that calamari is not caviar is not malleable (unless you’re in Estonia I suppose lol). It’s just a cold hard fact that outside of Estonia they’re two completely different things. In this situation there is no spectrum of rightness. You’re just either right or you’re wrong.
I’m not saying that its worth dying on the calamari hill in public. Handle that debate however you see fit.
- Comment on I'm intrigued 1 month ago:
Facts exist outside of you. Facts are already confirmed/researched and we just call upon them in conversation.
If an argument is based around a fact, there is indeed a right and wrong side. The accuracy of your recall of a given fact is the meaure of rightness in the argument.

I still have my library of tracks from the mid 2000s on a drive in my PC. Hell, I still have my iPod Classic.
That said, I spend 99% of my time streaming music.
That said², I never ever engage with playlists. They only serve to poison the well that is my algorithm. I have a tightly curated Youtube video algorithm and, even though Youtube Music’s algorithm is dogshit compared to Spotify, I still protect it at all costs.
You can still be an active listener on streaming services.
I’m currently three quarters of the way through Decapitated’s Organic Hallucinosis record while I clean the house. For the last month straight I’ve been mainlining Steven Wilson’s solo records as well as Porcupine Tree records. Music is not dead for the active listeners in the world. The focus should be on encouraging kids to appreciate a good album every once in a while.
- Comment on Is anyone else not feeling that patriotic for July 4? 2 months ago:
Personally, I’m not feeling that same vibe. I think the solidarity against the US is a very good thing, but the sheer amount of ways Canada is just “America Light” is very depressing. Its to the point that our flag has been so sullied by absolutely shit tier movements in the last 5 years that I can’t stand to see it anymore.
Every time I see a private flag pole, bumper stickers or anything kind of patriotic merch my knee jerk reaction is “I bet this dude’s a fuckwad.” I know that I’m painting with a huge and shitty brush but I just can’t even fight against it anymore. I know it’s wrong. I just don’t care, and that makes me sad.
I live comfortably here, but given even a minutely convenient reason to emigrate I think I’d take it.
Canada is a car infested, anti-human shit hole just like America. To paraphrase Steve Harris of Iron Maiden a bit "We oil the jaws of the
warcapitalist machine and feed it with ourbabiesimmigrants.
