Reninds me when I stayed in this village in a guest room, for a civic mission. My host kept talking about the “black familly” in the village. And I was like: “Do you have anything to say about them apart from their skin color?” 🙄

I was once I Huston for a bit visiting friends. I, a very white child was staying with my friends’s family who were very dark skinned. Friend’s mother took us to the local library where we got a TON of sideways glances. One person was staring quite intensely to which my friend’s mother looked directly at them them and said “what, you never seen a black family adopt a white boy before?”
To this day I find it just hilarious. She’s the best
