Lost_My_Mind doesn’t really have an internal filter and just kinda skirts along the surface of life focusing on pop culture. Don’t take them too seriously. They’re pretty oblivious. And generally happy. Ignorance being bliss and all.

No you’re not trying. You’re leaving everything up to the state. Which requires you to do nothing to maintain the status quo.
The purpose of the law is to protect property not you and not your rights. That’s pretty evident in Trump’s presidency.

Good thing we have laws and police! Man imagine if Ted Kaczinsky had heard about laws! Or if Luigi Mangione knew about the infrastructure and power of the state!
Lone actors are going to do what they want regardless of the law. The law doesn’t prevent you from punching an asshole in the mouth. You prevent you from doing so.
Here’s a thought experiment for you. Are there unjust laws?

Hugo documentation site, plugged into deepseek-r1:32b on ollama and fed my gitlab repo so I can start setting up truly self documenting code. Obviously I have to edit what it spits out but it’s spitting out good outlines and surprisingly coherent documentation.

just saying, this seems really sketchy folks.
some tips to help you out
don’t take your phones to the protest if you take a burner, don’t take it home. buy it, and trash it at the protest. don’t take anything that could identify you as you superglue and baking soda on your fingerprints. don’t go crazy, just enough to make printing you impossible/difficult write any important phone numbers on your arm or ankle in permanent marker if you can’t remember them stuff a couple hundred dollars for bail in your shoe don’t give ANYONE your real name. don’t care how hot they are or how impassioned they are, just fucking don’t designate one trusted individual to come get you from jail. they are not to bring their phone, they should park at least 1/4 mile away and walk to get you(long enough to realize you’re being tailed by police).
pay attention to your surroundings, specifically the movement of officers/agents. if they’re running you should be too. if there’s a large group marching or a wall marching, leave immediately and regroup.
ICE will be there. they will be picking people up. many of them not illegal. if you’re not white, wear makeup if you can get away with it. paint your face with state colors if need be. not a mask, so it shouldn’t be covered by “no-mask” states.
know your rights. bring the proof of your rights. force them to acknowledge your rights.
stream everything.
if you are picked up you will;
go on a list be unlawfully monitored become a link in a larger web to ensnare organizers
you will go dark for at least a month. no social media posts about the protests, no discussions about the protests, nothing. after that, it should be difficult to pair your online activity with your real world activities.
if you can’t make it to the protests, record the streams, share them online, pressure the public to demand answers for the crimes committed by the officers/agents.
one last thing.
there will undoubtedly be people there to provoke the protests. do not let them. once one incident of violence is determined all bets off and the police will become physically involved.
trust no one, question everything, power to the people. 🫵

Internalized misandry is a helluva drug. This is some fucboi shit. Works really well for old closeted sugar daddies. Or other fucbois. Hopefully his boyfriend is one of those and not looking for genuine long lasting connection.
We all gotta learn. Hopefully they get to learn with the least amount of harm.

Buy domain with monero. Stand up I2P, route email through that. You cannot be completely untraceable. But you can try the best you can.

- Comment on How the H-1B System Undercuts American Workers 1 month ago:
I was referring to the royal you.
My point is immigration can be good, if it’s properly handled and the workers are able to actually participate in the policy of the country they’re working in. I have a lot of coworkers that were initially H-1B and are now in the naturalization pipeline. Waiting on citizenship for over a decade some of them.
They pay income, property and sales taxes. Their kids go to public schools that their taxes help to fund. They have debt and credit scores. They’re active contributing members of society. However they have no say in how any political system they live within is run and have the spectre of deportation to worry about now.
For those not seeking citizenship it’s even worse. C-suite executives and corporations profit heavily from their labor and they’re stuck in limbo. It’s akin to indentured servitude as their presence in this country is predicated on their work. Their boss has a lot of say in how and where they live their lives.
- Comment on How the H-1B System Undercuts American Workers 1 month ago:
You want H-1B workers, fine! They get citizenship after a year. They get taxed at the same rate as anyone else so they also get a vote. Taxation without representation. Fuck that

Well, they don’t last far longer as a whole, but the advances in machining tolerances and material science, the mechanical internals can go far longer without anything more than fluid changes.
As far as longevity, soy based wiring harnesses, poorly shielded ECUs, and borked software updates are what are killing cars these days.

You can just never connect it to the Internet in the first place and only use the HDMI ports. Using a linux media pc running Kodi or whatever. But most people don’t know or care to do this.
Also the larger state actors have been hijacking televisions as well. However the attack still required an initial network logon.

Not when Netflix is throttling 4K bitrate. Shitty site but there’s a good writeup here. I’d suggest ublock origin or Firefox reader mode.

No, linux and Firefox are both capable of running 4k resolution.
If you want to use the gaming analogy this is like buying a triple star game but not being able to play it due to kernel level cheat detect.
You cannot place the onus on the consumer with this.

If you’re already reinstalling BTRFS will snapshot your partitions. I usually backup the root partition to my backup server as a script. It’s a thought.

If you have enough RAM 16Gb+. I would only use it for boot disks. Also you can boot from a raidz as well if you have the extra drives.

Either way good luck to you. I hope your server is up soon.
