Probably What We Do In The Shadows. Consistently great.
What is the current "favorite" show?

Current? Star Trek Strange new Worlds and Good Omens 2
sparky678348@lemm.ee 2 years ago
I’m horrified about good omens 2 and have not started it yet. If I remember correctly the first good omens was an adaptation of the entire book?
So they continue the story after the book? Without Pratchett? I’m just a little afraid.
TrenchcoatFullofBats@belfry.rip 2 years ago
It’s definitely different, but definitely good, and I say that as a Pratchett superfan.
Neil did a really good job, and I think Tennant and Sheen’s chemistry is even better this time around, which I did not think was possible.
Also, Rob Wilkins, Pratchett’s assistant and “curator” of his legacy is an executive producer.
You should watch it.
SteefLem@lemmy.world 2 years ago
No need. S2 is really good. Its not pratchett but gaiman wrote this with finnemore. And although i dont know this man i read that its the next best thing
kuneho@lemmy.world 2 years ago
started Star Trek from the brginning with gf around a year ago - now completely hooked on the whole thing.
currently at in the middle of season 2, Voyager.
Falmarri@lemmy.world 2 years ago
I’m so jealous of being able to watch voyager for the first time
forgotaboutlaye@lemmy.world 2 years ago
The Bear was very good. Season 2 even moreao than Season 1.
Charcoal8645@lemmy.world 2 years ago
There’s already a season 2?!
spasm01@lemmywinks.com 2 years ago
Right?! I cannot take the anxiety that I expect it to give me at this moment, but I am very excited once I can get my head right!

Ted Lasso.

I love S01 and S02, but S03 was a huge letdown for me compared with S01 and S02. Too many side stories and unnecessary new characters and important things happening off screen rather than on screen
mycatiskai@lemmy.one 2 years ago
We just finished, I hope there will be a spinoff because I’m not ready to finish with them all. There are still so many things for them to do, Roy Kent is the best.
netburnr@lemmy.world 2 years ago
So good I had to binge watch it all over again as soon as I finished.
ShunkW@lemmy.world 2 years ago
I just started watching this show and was amazed how funny and heartfelt it is. Can’t believe I slept on it for so long.

What is your favorite season?
ken_cleanairsystems@lemmy.sdf.org 2 years ago
Man, it’s hard to pick. Probably 14, but then a bunch of them would be a close second for me.
What about you?

Letterkenny andShoresy, with a side of The Witcher

I loved early Letterkenny, but the later seasons were more annoying than funny IMO

I have found my clone! Were you able to watch BtVS when it was new? I was a little too young and wonder how exciting that mustve been
sparky678348@lemm.ee 2 years ago
Nope, Buffy came out the year I was born. I watched it when I was young on my mom’s recommendation.

Rewatching stargate and it’s just as good as I remember

Indeed.

Still catching up on episodes of Bob’s Burgers. Watched it when it came out for a few seasons and then kind of checked out intermittently and realized that I’m a few seasons behind and there are a BUNCH of episodes I hadn’t seen.
I can’t get enough of it.

Better call Saul is the only thing I’ve been watching for the last couple of weeks, first time watching it.
Geek_King@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Hah me too! I watched Breaking Bad years ago and loved it, but never tried Better Call Saul! I suspect I’m nearing the end of the series though. It’s been excellent!
1984@lemmy.today 2 years ago
I’m really envious. Watching Better Call Saul for the first time again would be magic.
I’m probably on my fifth rerun or something… It’s an incredible show. I would rate these two shows as best of television ever.
Kiki@feddit.nl 2 years ago
Currently, Warrior! And recently, Barry (one of the best tv shows I’ve ever seen)
TheJesusFish@lemmynsfw.com 2 years ago
Warrior is so freaking good.
Kiki@feddit.nl 2 years ago
So true! I was really sceptical at first, not being a huge fan of either western movies and Kung Fu ones, but this TV show is definitely something else! Starting season 3 now 😁

Just finished The Librarians and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Onto Good Omens but have no idea how to follow this trio.
Pibrac@sh.itjust.works 2 years ago
I just discovered Good Omens this year. What a great show!
SteefLem@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Warehouse 13, Eureka they will fit nicely after librarians
cabbagee@sopuli.xyz 2 years ago
Both are fantastic and what lead me to the librarians. Maybe it’s time for a rewatch.
maniclucky@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Warehouse 13 and The Librarians always scratched similar itches for me.
BettyWhiteInHD@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Mrs. Maisel is just so delightful and so much fun visually throughout the entire thing. Finished it up a few weeks ago and kind of bummed there won’t be more, but it ended where it made sense and that last season almost overstayed its welcome, so it’s entirely alright.
Also surprisingly, one of the better uses of HDR in a show that I’ve seen so far.
Granixo@feddit.cl 2 years ago
The Witcher.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds!
An incredibly well executed episodic series.
SolOrion@sh.itjust.works 2 years ago
Season 1 of Altered Carbon is still my favorite show.
Seytoux@lemmy.one 2 years ago
Absolutely loved season 1, literally slept through 2nd, why was it so bad?
TrenchcoatFullofBats@belfry.rip 2 years ago
The creator of the show was also the co-showrunner for season 1. Season 2 only had the other, non-creator showrunner, who apparently said in an interview that she wanted season 2 to be “less Bladerunner”, more “Chronicles of Riddick”.
I think that explains what happened pretty succinctly.
SolOrion@sh.itjust.works 2 years ago
Honestly I’m not sure why it was such a drastic quality drop, but jesus christ it was,
mycatiskai@lemmy.one 2 years ago
I think a lot of it had to do with the way the books were so different. The first was a neonoir cyberpunk detective story, the second and third book were planet spanning adventure with some alien things going on and more body swapping which is hard when you have a main star in the show.

rewatching Arrested Development which I havent rewatched since early streaming Netflix if memory serves. It is really just as quick and ridiculous as I remembered, loving every bit of it!
_pete_@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Foundation on Apple TV+, beautiful, complicated, epic sci-fi. I’m rewatching the first season whilst the second is getting released week by week.
ShunkW@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Is it based on the Asimov books? I’ll have to… Eh-hem… Acquire it.
_pete_@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Honestly Apple TV+ is a pretty good service; Silo, Severance, Physical, Shrinking, Mythic Quest, For All Mankind and Invasion are all worth a watch, and that’s just the stuff I’ve seen.
I would recommend at least taking a trial for a month, there is less stuff but it’s a lot higher quality than much of the junk on Netflix.
MaShinKotoKai@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Lost, The OA, The Office
NielsBohron@lemmy.world 2 years ago
The OA looked interesting, but I haven’t looked into it beyond the autoplayed trailer. Do you have a 1 sentence description/comparison?
Falmarri@lemmy.world 2 years ago
I thought it was pretty awful. It’s incredibly pretentious and just generally really stupid. End of season one was honestly pretty embarrassing, and the fact that anyone liked it is honestly baffling
MaShinKotoKai@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Metaphysical cerebral drama. The only unfortunate thing I will say about the show is it fell victim to the Netflix ban train. It was meant to have 5 seasons and only got 2. The creators have been very vocal and consistent with saying they want to bring the end to us no matter what though.
LexaMaridia@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Star Trek Lower Decks.

Currently Twisted Metal. It’s far better than I expected.
Falmarri@lemmy.world 2 years ago
I feel personally attacked by the existence of this show
Geek_King@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Great to hear, after I finish Better Call Saul, I’ll move over to what’s available for Twisted Metal, though my expectations are new zero.

Watching Vikings for the first time - loving it! The violence is absolutely thrilling and it’s so well done otherwise.
RotaryKeyboard@lemmy.ninja 2 years ago
Right now? Silo. Every damn episode of that first season was perfect. In a few months it will probably be Star Trek Lower Decks again.
swiffswaffplop@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Silo is fantastic. If you need another great show on Apple TV m, watch Severance. It’s the best show I’ve seen in years.
_pete_@lemmy.world 2 years ago
I wish I could wipe my memory of Severance and watch it again for the first time again.
Such an incredible show.
Rambler@lemm.ee 2 years ago
I second Severance - excellent show. I’m adding Carnivale into the mix here.
1984@lemmy.today 2 years ago
I lost interest in it after 5 episodes… It was too slow.
