I’m pretty proud of my eggplant and golden capsicum stir fry with jazzed up tvp (soaked unflavoured larger pieces in salt water, squeezed them out, blitzed in processor, cooked up in a highly flavoured sauce).
I added too much of my fiery chilli paste tho and between that and the excess sodium I’m sure the outer layer of my lips and palate will be gone by tomorrow morning. Sure is restaurant quality though. A bit greasy and moreish
Black rice vinegar is good for cutting down the heat. I find that upping the sweetness and acidity can mellow out some heat.
Looks good though, for sure.
Oh that’s a good idea. It’s been on my to buy list for ages. I did add some brown sugar to the mix, will definitely try a different vinegar too next time.
It took about a minute for the hot chip line to run out of chips
Work complete.
Jack on, water bottle full, and I’m off to the footy 🏉
I’mno expert, but i’m pretty sure you’re supposed to jack off
Go Sydney! 😆
I’ll be equally delighted and stunned if the Swans win.
Against all odds I’ve actually tipped the Swannies to take this one.
With the fury of Grundy and hopefully their midfield I’m hoping they’ll overrun the pies.
Up to Harry Potter 7.
Just another fight for world domination story.
All these nuts are the same. Blofeld, Dr Evil, Putin, Smersh, Voldemort.
Dr. Claw, Skeletor, Brain, Shredder, Baron Greenback…
In my fave action adventure show as a kid, Thunderbirds, there was no evil organisation trying to take over the world 🤔
Appleman, Texas Pete
Voldy was more nuanced than that. The movies don’t really cover it that well, but his big motivator was to be special. He used control of the ministry and domination of the muggles as a carrot for his supporters. But at a personal level, he didn’t care about power and control as end goals.
He wanted to be the most renown, feared and admired person in the world. He wanted to be so special that everyone just did whatever he wanted. Not that he wanted to rule the world - but whoever did rule it answered to his every whim.
It’s a very petty and vain motivator. But, I can actually believe it. Actually ruling the world sounds like too much work.
ok, so I reupped my sub to nyt for the xwords
I used to do them years ago, would buy the print books
What’s for dinner folks? I’m thinking either Chinese style eggplant with capsicum and minced tvp to go with rice, or a quick dal to go with upma (savoury semolina mush)
Depends what I find near my seat at the G
May it be satisfying and mood-boosting!
Chicken and chorizo sub topped with whipped spinach and feta, red onion and roquette
That’d be an easy $23 at a cafe. Sounds tantalising!
A weird gin & beer combo that was 50% off.
Also sounds like what you need - hopefully it recharges you. Or makes you get funky, as needed.
Chicken soup with pasta for me.
Sounds like what you need - hopefully it recharges you.
salmon veggies rice
I could go for that. Grilled salmon?
Mexican restaurant with a mate to celebrate the job news. Haven’t been to St Kilda in ages. I might move back that way in a couple of months
Onya, you definitely deserve a Friday night out. I’d have a look at adjacent suburbs like St Kilda East, even Elwood and Balaclava aren’t as prissy as I thought they would be (I know that’s why you moved out of your last suburb).
I’m due to make my ~quarterly subscription movie/tv show switch from paramount to somewhere else. Who’s got a good tv show I should watch that’s recently released somewhere?
Switch to plex and watch whatever TF you want whenever you feel like it until the end of time (or your hard drive fails)
Never heard of Plex before wow. Looks kinda… Awesome?!

The week after I got my breadmaker, I discovered my really itchy eczema rash I’d had for a year could be gluten related. So I cut out gluten and wasted $180 on a breadmaker.
3 weeks later when I had little one over, decided to use the last packet to make bread and because I have zero self control and the smell of it made me drool I had some and no rash/no return/nothing (but still staying away from gluten if I can).
My body is a mystery.
