    “Demsoc” is just a shorthand for “democratic socialist”. Similar to how “ancap” is “anarcho-capitalist” and “nazbol” is “national-bolshevik”.

  Demsoc = democratic socialist. They’re the more progressive wing of the American left that’s beginning to take power from the neoliberals.

  They basically just want a system like what Europe has instead of our current system of crony capitalism.

  Afaik it’s the biggest American political movement that Europe would consider to actually be on the left part of the spectrum.

  What I don’t get is why he’s called a democratic socialist and not a social democrat. You know, the widely used term for parties with his kind of politics around the world.
