If nothing else, it gave us a banging song for memes, or in my case sailing in valheim and swinging boats around rocks.

It’s my favorite F & F movie, fight me

You think THAT’S an unpopular opinion? I personally think that they should never even have made the first one.

People I know IRL be hating on the last few because they were so over-the-top; I think they’re the best because they were so over-the-top.

First one is like a time capsule of street racing and car culture of the moment. It was better because it was grounded in reality. The driving and stunts were cool because they were believable. The new stuff is just over the top action.
To each their own :)

Weren’t they even in space in one of the movies?
Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 year ago
Yeah, the best way to make a bad movie good is to make it into a farce*, whether on purpose or not.
Examples include: Crossroads, Commando, The Room
*though there are of course truly great (and usually criminally underrated) movies that were farces on purpose from the start

That’s correct.

Possibly the peak of the franchise, assuming you enjoy drag racing more than professional musicians launching cars into space.
rapchee@lemmy.world 1 year ago
you like what you like but the drifting car chase is just so painfully stupid
BackgrndNoize@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Yeah cause the rest of the fast franchise is so grounded and serious, don’t they go into space in one of these, I mean come on
icelimit@lemmy.ml 1 year ago
I didn’t even know Tokyo drift was an FF movie
