Then they should be educated out of those ignorant views, not have their rights restricted. What are you gonna do when some wannabe fascist decides that “basic voting condition” means believing that trans people don’t exist, that climate change is a hoax, and that the ultra-wealthy shouldn’t pay any taxes actually?
- Comment on [deleted] 2 days ago:
The right to vote shouldn’t be restricted in any way. If you have legal restrictions then all it takes is bad actors expanding those categories and sorry, you just failed the critical thinking test because you think that climate change is real and life doesn’t begin at conception. Better get ready for your shift at Amazon, serf.
Media literacy and such should just be part of the education everyone gets.

Don’t ya just hate it when people make their harmful kink both their entire personality, and a problem for good your fundamental rights? It feels weird to say it. But that’s basically what this performative Christian schtick is for people like this. They get off in it so now it’s all of our problem.

A bunch of comments going for the “why would you buy toilet paper that already has shit on it” route, but I can’t believe nobody went for calling this a shit(tickets) post.
- Comment on You cannot learn without failing. 1 week ago:
It’s not a failure in the usual sense we think about it, no. You were still “technically wrong” in whatever hypothesis you had that was disproven. But the end result is different because theoretically everyone involved cares more about the answer being found, not necessarily that they are the one to do it.
Hell, in cases where whatever you did was later proven incorrect it’s usually that whatever you did was the most correct answer for the information we had at the time. Then new information is discovered and often someone else builds off what you did to get this new answer.

My wife had to explain to me that a girl I went to college with was into me years after the fact. She stumbled across some pictures I had on Facebook that this girl had liked and commented on and asked me about her. At the time I didn’t think anything of it but she was interacting with old posts from long before we’d even met at school.
My wife actually facepalmed when I told her this one story in particular. I was in the Commons on campus suffering from a pretty bad migraine. I’d been there for like an hour when she came in and sat next to me and asked me what was wrong. I told her and she sat next to me petting my head until she had to leave to go to her next class.
- Comment on Why are weather apps so bad at telling you the current weather? 8 months ago:
Not really. Using % of forecast area as % chance of rain inherently gives equal weight to your position being anywhere within that area. Even if you limit the forecast area to the 5m or whatever it is radius that smartphone GPS is typically accurate to which a weather app could theoretically do, simply using % of the forecast area covered as % chance of rain inherently gives equal probability of you being literally anywhere within that 5m radius. It would obviously still be more accurate, but those numbers wouldn’t be the same thing.

Because they’re not in it for profit. It’s a project of the chuds at the Daily Wire. Any profit is a side effect of their true goal, right wing culture war. It exists to take money from their fans and use their “successful business” to prove that they’re correct. They’d still do it even if it wasn’t profitable just to push their preferred narrative.
- Comment on Real Facebook ad that doubles as a god-tier shitpost 8 months ago:
Not a piss take. But yes part of the show. It’s entirely owned and operated by the chuds at the Daily Wire and their entire purpose is right wing culture war. It’s just classic conservative grifting
- Comment on Real Facebook ad that doubles as a god-tier shitpost 8 months ago:
They don’t. If you look into them it’s entirely a company owned by the same guy that owns The Daily Wire. It’s literally only there to grift from their audience and further their culture war.

Of course. It’s not political if it’s just The Way Things Should Be™
The two Races: White and Political The two Genders: Male and Political The two Sexualities: Straight and Political
Their views are never “political” because theirs is the “natural state” of things. They’re on top because they deserve to be, and they deserve to be on top because they are. It’s anything that deviates from that so-called natural state that’s being political.

They basically just heard that soy has phytoestrogens and that was all they needed. So now they think that eating literally anything with soy in it actively feminizes you.

Years ago I had really severe anxiety and intrusive thoughts. I noticed though as my anxiety got better through among other things therapy that the intrusive thoughts took on a new form; Unbidden and often times inappropriate shitposting IRL.
Personally, most of the time I don’t really hear my internal monologue. It’s there but it kinda tends to get drowned out by a constant swirl of other random thoughts unless I externalize it and talk to myself, but I do hear the intrusive thoughts loud and clear. Add those things together and I like to joke that I accidentally manifested a shitpost tulpa.
Then because I found this thought amusing I came up with an entire character to put to it.

A boat for personal use and a boat for trade use are two very different things.

Yep, not having a bunch of your trade going to feeding and caring for your horses makes a huge difference.

If I was reading the NLRB rules change correctly that would be “union busting” activity and would mean they immediately have to recognize and begin bargaining with the union.
- Comment on "Could you elaborate on that?" 1 year ago:
I would love to elaborate. Really, I would. But after the words left my mouth my brain just kinda closed that tab on me and it’s gone forever. Not even I know what I was saying.
