You just have a chain of unprovable assumptions there.
Kid’s use slang -> they must have picked it up on the internet -> many people are illiterate -> the parents of these specific kids are not raising them right

Excuse me the correct slang here would be to hit someone with that “hawk tuah”

I’d go by queries executed per day globally. But I wouldn’t be able to tell you which system wins that. If I had to guess I’d say sqlite just because of the insane amount of mobile devices that exist. But maybe that’s wrong.

Yep but with the limitation that you will only ever have 4 people in one mission besides some special hubs
- Comment on Thoughts on Space Games, Part 1: Top-5 AAA Games 6 months ago:
Oh it’s quite different! The gameplay loop is centered around PvE in a cooperative style with a handful of different modes and a ton of different maps. It does take place in space but there are also missions that feel less spacey like the planes of eidolon

Warframe! I haven’t played in a while but the art style and game in general will always have a place in my heart.

That’s quite besides my point but I’ll answer in two ways:
Firstly what defines “working” isn’t really your choice. If the goal is to have fun the silliest stuff can be called “working”. If the goal is to escape reality for a bit then pretending to be a mermaid might be quite effective.
Secondly, my point was just that there is a game, played by people that are probably enjoying themselves, which could probably be translated into a Video game. Just like any other sports.

I really want to see the zygote approach worked out for electron. It’s working really well for android but with electron there are just too many different versions used by the different programs for that to make sense.

Afaik there are people actually playing quidditch, brooms and all. So there must be something playable there

One example where that doesn’t seem to work is public infrastructure. There is just no way to make this profitable and simultaneously provide a service that actually meets the needs of the public in terms of availability and price.
- Comment on If you want communism, you can start a commune 7 months ago:
There is one problem with this: what’s profitable and what’s beneficial for society do not necessarily align.
- Comment on If you want communism, you can start a commune 7 months ago:
You’d rather entrust almost every aspect of your live to the benevolence of some people that do not have any oversight by the populous that they have power over by the means of controlling the capital?

I’d imagine it works the same as it does under capitalism but instead of pitching to a set of private investors the investment decisions are made… Democratically?

Extorting you out of your money via unfair prices by misusing your power is borderline legal. There are consumer protections against this kind of stuff.

It’s about the margins. If your phone contract was “100€/minute” that would be a scam. Also journals do have a lot more power than phone companies. Journals aren’t a network of providers where you can choose whichever is cheapest.

You know what that actually sounds like a very cool idea. I am sure I would get in trouble here in Germany for doing that, because how dare I put cleaning products on something I don’t own, but it’s a very cool idea nonetheless
