- Comment on Are there humans who require heating lights like pet reptiles? 1 week ago:
We keep them on our balconies so we can sit and watch the snow.
- Comment on Has any country actually _solved_ the housing crisis? 1 week ago:
If they did ignore it, by spring there would be less homelessness.
- Comment on Why is the word "expat" a thing? 5 weeks ago:
Personally, I define an expat as someone living in another country and not learning the language/customs.
They will never be accepted as a local because of this.
- Comment on What should I bring to far-north Scandinavia? 5 weeks ago:
Don’t forget to bring your Christmas wish list for Santa in Rovaniemi then.
- Comment on Are there ways to use VR headset for realtime assistance? 5 weeks ago:
I’m guessing you haven’t tried to do it. I can spend twenty minutes trying to read something my father-in-law needs help with over video chat. From his “and how do I turn the back camera on?”, to my “no back a bit and left. The other left”, and the classic “you turned off your video, let me call you back” because it’s faster than guiding him on how to turn it on while he swears that he didn’t press anything.

He could postpone the election if America is at war.
“We have always been at war with Eastasia”
- Comment on Do you actually care about your friend's new baby, vacation abroad or similar life events or are you just being nice? 2 months ago:
I’m interested in parts of the trip. Mainly the foods and food markets. What they ate where. If they want to tell me about the views or the guy at that shop who said something, I’ll feign interest.
Anyone who has been on a “cruise holiday” eats on the ship, and the food may be good but it isn’t exciting or too exotic. I want to know how you ate a sausage and found out later it was an earthworm but it was really nice because they grilled it with lime and stuff and you couldn’t tell.
- Comment on What is the current best smart TV software/brand/ecosystem option? 2 months ago:
I use a flirc ir receiver in a RPI. Use any remote and bind the buttons to keys to set it up then go. I set mine up about ten years ago and still use the same setup even though I upgraded the pi.

Thanks, I probably will change soon, but I have to convince my partner first…
- Comment on YSK there is a software that blocks remote connection tools used by scammers! 2 months ago:
Ok, gramps. I blocked TeamViewer on the router to stop scammers.
Two months later, gramps has a small problem with the internet connection. The first thing the helpdesk tells him to do is factory reset the router.
Gramps gets scammed through TeamViewer.

I struggle with this all the time. I hate watching cute piggy videos because I remember them next time I eat bacon.

I got a ban on Facebook for using the word “fatty”. Didn’t matter I was talking about the breakdown of fatty acids in digestion, because “fatty” is bad.
- Comment on Would you consider making a sandwich to be "cooking?" 2 months ago:
You can grow your wheat, and raise pigs, but to really make it from scratch, first you need to create the universe.
- Comment on Trams are expensive here 3 months ago:
Years ago in Germany, some people worked out the odds of getting caught without a ticket and found that it wasn’t worth buying a ticket. They formed a group and if anyone got fined, they all paid the fine together. Then when the government found out, they doubled the fine.
- Comment on Boeing Union Wins 25% Raise in Tentative Contract, But Possible Strike Still Looms 3 months ago:
Yeah, if they can give 25% they’ve been holding back for a while.
Also needs to be in the deal that nobody gets fired, since the shitty thing to do is then get rid of 25% of the workers.

- Comment on Would it be possible to use aerosol-based geoengineering technology locally to cool houses? 5 months ago:
My grandma used to water the garden around the house and spray water over the roof on hot days. Try that first.
- Comment on Could anyone explain the linguistics around the word "shit"? 5 months ago:
And don’t forget the division. A piece of shit, is bad, like a car that won’t start, or a selfish person. A big piece of shit or a huge piece of shit is worse, but it’s never a whole shit, because then it would be The shit, and good.

I’m hoping for a future without money. Where everyone can get what they need and want.
- Comment on Coles has introduced national egg buying limits. Here's what we know 6 months ago:
Someone post a video of a family with gran sitting with a shopping trolley just past the checkout, and other family members buying eggs, putting them in the trolley and going back to get more eggs.
- Comment on is there a legal way to consume alcohol bought at a store, outside of a home, hotel room, etc.? 7 months ago:
In a lot of places, if an establishment has a liquor licence, it is forbidden to drink your own alcohol you brought from outside. Technically you can’t bring a beer back to your hotel room from anywhere but the hotel’s own bar.
Alcohol laws are complicated.
- Comment on Am I going fucking crazy? (Regarding explicit songs being censored on various music streaming services.) 8 months ago:
I got banned on Facebook for saying “fatty acids” because “fatty” is a bad word.

RAM is no longer relevant. QSG (Quantum Stacked Gates) is used for both RAM and file storage, being both near infinite (exabytes per gram) and near lightspeed to access. The NVIDIA QWVA (Quantum Wormhole Visual Actuliser) handles the rendering of Virtual Space to my GE neural lace (Perfected by GE after Musk’s bankruptcy). The “CPU” is a DQERISC (Decentralized Quantum Entangled RISC) array boasting 64k threads at the equivalent of 8.4PHz.
Only been used off world though, everyone on Earth just uses the Mesh, much faster.
Running Arch with Linux kernel 69.420.9.99.999.999.9999.9999.372 (Linus said “Nice” when it got to 69.420, and died soon after so now it will always keep the same version number) btw.

- Comment on Is it possible to eat in such a way that you'll never have to fart? 1 year ago:
If you hold on for a few minutes, it will be absorbed by the colon and go into your bloodstream. Then it will be released into the atmosphere through your skin. Soundlessly and smellessly.
