I wish I could argue with you.

We have been long past that point, it just took this election to make it obvious. This is who America is, and who it has always been. Denying just leads us further down the same hole.
- Comment on Cable News Weighs In On What Went Wrong 2 weeks ago:
And there it is. Already learning the wrong lesson. I really wish this wasn’t so predictable.
- Comment on Maybe this is better for everyone 2 months ago:
Yes and no. The theory is that each instance is supposed to be more specialized, kind of like the old BBS that used to be rampant on the internet. If you are moving to an instance just because people disagree with you instead to have more discussion over a specific topic that is not really in line with the purpose of the fediverse.
- Comment on Maybe this is better for everyone 2 months ago:
I mean, they’re the biggest instance, of course there is going to be circle jerking, but it also has more dissenting voices to push back against people who are just plain wrong.

And this is probably why Randy hated Hogan his whole career. Randy knew Hogan was a douche.

- Comment on Do any "thickening" products actually work to prevent hair loss/thinning? 2 months ago:
Kind of. I’ve never bothered with them myself because it requires constant use and is kind of more trouble than it’s worth.

Every time I see something like this I’m reminding that pedophiles tried to rebrand as MAPs. Thankfully it didn’t really work.

I don’t know about relatable, but it does speak to Ben’s personality that so many people thought this was real.

It’s really not that deep.

What’s that quote? History is written by the winners. Yeah, something like that. Not to say the alternative would have been better, but bad historians will always leave out the worst parts of a country’s history.
- Comment on Palworld devs heard “nothing at all” from Pokémon creators despite everyone calling it 'Pokémon with guns' 4 months ago:
People are still calling it a Pokemon clone even though only like 10% of the gameplay involves catching Pals. It’s closer to being a survival game with a dash of “Pokemon at home” than anything else.
- Comment on Baldur’s Gate 3 mod update will be Larian’s ‘final handover’ to players 5 months ago:
“Screwed them over” may have been a bit strong, but as you mentioned WotC laid off a bunch of devs. The important part is that they were devs who worked directly with Larian on BG3. This is more likely than not also the reason Larian halted work on BG3 DLC. The public statement was that they lost their motivation, but it’s no coincidence that the DLC was cancelled very close to the payoff announcement. There are also the backhanded remarks that Swen has made about WotC watching him. It really sounds like Wizards is trying to control the narrative and make it look like the parting was amicable.
- Comment on Baldur’s Gate 3 mod update will be Larian’s ‘final handover’ to players 5 months ago:
It’s just unfortunate that Larian will most likely not be doing BG4 if there is one. Corporate greed ruined it for everyone again.

Wallpaper Engine 4 was a greedy cash grab full of micro transactions and bugs.

It’s kinda how I feel about any shitty person that gets clowned on. At some point it’s just like “yeah, we all know this person is a POS, what else is new”.

- Comment on This console generation seems skippable 10 months ago:
I think this is actually a good thing. In a perfect world exclusives wouldn’t exist and you would buy things based on their own merits. Having to buy something you don’t want because you fear missing out on a game is a horrible experience. In fact I stopped caring because I got so tired of possibly missing out on a game. It has worked out great for me this generation.

Science is fallible though. Everyone would do themselves a service to remember that. A scientific fact is the best answer we have with the available information we have at the moment. That is the beauty of science, it’s willing to change if better evidence presents itself.

This is probably the only time I will agree with the “both sides” take on this. My view on this is that it doesn’t mean I agree with killing innocents though. People at the top doing terrible things is no reason to condemn a whole people who very likely had little say in the matter.

It definitely ignores the nuance of the situation, that’s for sure. In some cases it’s not even nuance.

It is also a constantly moving goalpost that our body never quite figures out. Some days 7 hours of sleep is fine, others you need 10, and your body is really bad at telling you which days need certain amounts of rest.

Create a video of someone using a jackhammer so stupidly wrong you want to do it yourself just to show how easy it is.
- Comment on Open for discussion 1 year ago:
Yeah, but you can pay a pittance to remove the ads. It’s a one time fee of 3.50. Granted it’s still proprietary, but I chalk that up to the dev not knowing a lot about FOSS. Both the Sync and Boost devs came from developing Reddit apps and you need more cash flow to pay the proprietary API.
