- Comment on Why do I fart all the time when I'm trying to sleep?! 4 days ago:
Might be the carbs. I can’t say I ever farted as much as you mentioned, but when I went on keto for a couple years, the farts stopped entirely. And I would still eat low-sugar veges like broccoli and brussel sprouts that used to set me off pre-keto.
- Comment on Why do I fart all the time when I'm trying to sleep?! 5 days ago:
When you say granola, is that bars or cereal with milk? You might have lactose intolerance building up if it’s the latter.

I can’t believe my eyes, someone that isn’t spouting the usual bullshit about cows and GHG on Lemmy.
I’ll be gobsmacked.

Well, plus the bullet.

$750/month if you have to stable it.
- Comment on I'm going to try not to swear when you're around. Is this a good apology to a coworker? 1 week ago:
I apologize. The word fuck is one I’m used to using, but I’ll try to avoid using it.
This sounds like “I’m sorry I fucking swore around you, I’ll try to stop that shit.”
- Comment on What percentage of lead gets washed off the fingers of a typical human after handling lead solder? 1 week ago:
Because its lovely to work with compared to ROHS solder, and if you’re just a hobbyist, its not an appreciable risk.
- Comment on What percentage of lead gets washed off the fingers of a typical human after handling lead solder? 1 week ago:
Its negligible and its elemental lead which isn’t very reactive at all.

I though it stood for “sadomasochism” and was trying to figure out what that meant here.

Why would they even make a 40 min long ad for Redbull?

Plus, consider how much plastic waste that comes to. I’ve seen people describe them changing gloves several times an hour to comply with food safety laws. We don’t have outbreaks of this shit because people wash their hands and don’t rely on gloves.

Same here, but I don’t think the workers tend to wear diapers either.
- Comment on A decline in arable land 3 weeks ago:
That’s always been the way of it. Cities start where people settle, and people settle on the best land they can find. Then the city expands into the farmland surrounding it. This happened in Europe, and then NA. This isn’t a Canada Bad thing.

If you asked me to clean a bird, this is exactly what I would think of. Though usually it involves removing lead shot, not labels.
- Comment on Is Lemmy an effective alternative to Reddit? 4 weeks ago:
I was a 15 year Reddit veteran and modded a couple dozen communities over there. I’ve moved over here with no regrets. The only thing that takes me back to Reddit is search results, and that’s getting less and less as more people have abandoned it and deleted comments.
The amount of bots there now is astounding. It’s making me believe in the Dead Internet Theory.
- Comment on Element in water heater died; less than two months old. 4 weeks ago:
In NA, steel is standard. I’ve never seen a copper hotwater tank in Canada. I think that used to be somewhat common in Europe, but copper is freakin’ expensive now so that’s gone by the wayside, as well.

Yah, be sure to text me when you need something ASAP instead of calling, because that’ll get you what you want fersure. Then get angry about it.
I don’t understand why people do this.

Amateur radio is still somewhat like this, but nothing like it used to be. That used to be the ultimate nerd hobby. My dad was a ham and I eventually got my license, but I don’t find it anywhere near as fascinating anymore. But it was the original opensource project, and you used to share info on the hobby over the airwaves coming out of the machine you built by hand.
