- Comment on Sucking carbon dioxide out of the sky is moving from science fiction to reality 1 year ago:
We pretty much have no choice. Stopping to put more CO into the atmosphere wont stop climate change unless we can also remove the excess we’ve already put there.

Even there the house is a bit too large for me. That carage is nice though
- Comment on Upvoting a factually incorrect comment because it sounds nice, and downvoting a factually correct comment because it sounds bad. 1 year ago:
Many users vote based on emotions here. I often see well written comments with the sources linked and everything, being downvoted, and some low effort reply with an opinion is upvoted, though factually incorrect.
- Comment on Is it possible to have privacy in a modern car? 1 year ago:
How do these cars even connect to the internet? Can’t you just not let them? Obviously you can’t use the built in navigation or spotify either then but it’s not like you can’t just use your smartphone to that like I already do with my -07 truck

Gut a piece of electric wire and use the insulation as an extension so it’ll still stick out from your pocket. That’s what I’ve always done
- Comment on Kevin doesn't share though 1 year ago:
Fits my folding knife perfectly
- Comment on why isn't the use of the bidet more widespread? 1 year ago:
In Finland you can find one in every toilet basically but majority of people don’t use them. It’s not something installed into the bowl itself thought but just a separate shower head next to it that’s attached to the faucet so you get warm water too.
- Comment on Why are there people like this?! 1 year ago:
Other billionaires have access to the same financial advisers. Unless all billionaires are extremely stupid and Elon just happens to be the least stupid one of them then this logic simply just doesn’t add up.
- Comment on Why are there people like this?! 1 year ago:
Imagine being literally the richest man on the world and people still act like you’re bad at finances.
“But he inherited the wealth…”
As did many other billionaires that didn’t make it to the front of that list

Didn’t they make the vaccine in few days? It just took 10 months or so to get it approved
- Comment on Coming to you soon... 1 year ago:
I believe it should work with any adblocker that lets you set custom rules but since adblocking still works for me I haven’t tried this myself. Saved it from reddit like 3 months ago so I hope it’s still relevant
- Comment on Coming to you soon... 1 year ago:
Yeah I don’t personally use spotify for podcasts even though I have premium aswell. Except for the occasional JRE episode I listen everything else on Podcast Republic.
- Comment on Coming to you soon... 1 year ago:
I’m not sure if this works anymore but I saved this message a while back. If you get this pop-up then put this into your adblock custom rules and it should sort it out:
youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.openPopupConfig.supportedPopups.adBlockMessageViewModel, false) youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.adBlocksFound, 0) youtube.com##+js(set, ytplayer.config.args.raw_player_response.adPlacements, []) youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.hasAllowedInstreamAd, true)
- Comment on Coming to you soon... 1 year ago:
When ever I see someone using YouTube without an adblocker it looks like some cheap chinese knock-off or something. As someone who sees less ads than 99% of people I’ve genuinely became a bit oversensitive to them. Podcasts are the only thing I keep paying attention to despite them having ads which even then I always skip over. Other than that every online platform I use is ad-free and I don’t watch TV or listen to radio either.

Yeah but Ford has or atleast had a patent for this so it’s not available on other brands
- Comment on Twitter/X new ID Verification - First Look 1 year ago:
I don’t have the technical understanding to explain how it works but in Finland I can verify my identity by logging in to my online bank profile and they provide my identity to the 3rd party.
- Comment on Small children are well known to be afraid of voids (closets, under the bed) in their sleeping area. Knowing this, why don't we design children's rooms to eliminate them? 1 year ago:
Maybe we don’t need to round every sharp corner we can find. I doubt anyone is traumatized for life because there was a closet in the room as a child.
- Comment on "Sponsored recommendations": I pay for Spotify Premium, and yet somehow I'm still the product? 1 year ago:
I find HQ audio version from YouTube and put the links into an app that downloads and converts them while adding correct artist, title, album etc. I don’t remember the name of the app right now but I can check if you’re interested
- Comment on Twitter/X new ID Verification - First Look 1 year ago:
I believe this is only for users that want the blue tick in which case it sort of makes sense that to be “verified” means they infact have verified that you are who you claim to be.
Requiring a picture of you ID seems very 2005 though
- Comment on "Sponsored recommendations": I pay for Spotify Premium, and yet somehow I'm still the product? 1 year ago:
I’ve been downloading my spotify playlists as .mp3 so when they start pulling stunts like this I can simply just move elsewhere and lose nothing
- Comment on EU votes to mandate removable batteries in smartphones in a landslide; no more glued together junk! 1 year ago:
Yeah. To melt ice and snow. Now that I think about it heated steering wheel would be nice too.
- Comment on EU votes to mandate removable batteries in smartphones in a landslide; no more glued together junk! 1 year ago:
I really hope car manufacturers would start making really cheap and basic versions of their cars. Modern cars are filled to the brim with features I could easily live without and don’t want to pay extra for.
All I really need is electric windows in the front, heated seats, power steering, ABS/traction control, AC, cruise control, radio with USB and bluetooth, heated rear glass and mirros and that’s pretty much it. Reverse camera is nice but not mandatory. The last thing I want for my car is internet access. Abso-fucking-lutely not.

It’s more interesting that engaging with people that already agree with you. Up to a point ofcourse. Once you realize that nothings getting thru either way it’s often better to just move on.
- Comment on higher wages for the servers... by the customers. Fnbs 1 year ago:
Those prices are about what I’d expect to pay at a restaurant here in Finland too but somehow they’re able to pay a living wage to the staff from that without extra “service charge” or tips.
- Comment on Why do most religious conservatives support capitalist ideology? 1 year ago:
When people say they don’t support capitalism then what is the system you see as a more viable alternative?
- Comment on People who back into parking spots: Why? 1 year ago:
It’s safer to back into a spot than back out of it and personally I find it easier especially if it’s a narrow spot. Also means that my car is then straight in the middle of the spot.
In all honesty it’s something I do mostly because it’s what I’ve always done. I also like to paraller park into tight spots because I like the challenge.
- Comment on How has Instagram largely avoided being associated with Facebook/Meta? 1 year ago:
Yep. And by everyone I literally mean everyone. Every iPhone has whatsapp installed, my workplace uses it, every single one of my friends use it, my parents use it and my both grandmothers use it. Hell my pet gerbils probably have whatsapp too.
