Even when you have an affordable prescription good luck getting it filled. I’ve been waiting over a week and Walgreen’s is still fucking around with it. I’ve been out the last two days and starting to get withdrawl symptoms. Luckily its nothing I need to survive but going unplanned cold turkey is not healthy.

I worked with a dude who loved “ramen” but had never had it from a restaurant. He didn’t seem like he knew how to cook particularly well, and I’m not sure if he’d ever even left the suburbs he was born in.
One day he was talking about how excited he was to go to a real ramen shop over the weekend. So next time I see him I asked how it went. He sighed and said he got a veggie ramen because he found out the meat ones were “made with bone” and he was grossed out by it. I could only say “of course, that’s how you make good soup.” Then I had to explain how you make stock or split pea with ham soup, etc. I think I ruined soup for him.

I remember getting made fun of in middle school for listening to Nevermind, you know just a landmark in rock music because it was at the time almost 10 years old. Sigh.

IDK Im an older millenial and pretty much stopped drinking a decade ago. Never had a problem, but I just got too busy going back to school and working full time. Then I started noticing how many people I knew who were using it as a crutch to get through the week. Others were amazed when I said I couldn’t remember the last time I drank. It just started to really turn me off drinking once I noticed how seemingly everyone had a terrible relationship with alcohol.
Now I drink again but not much. i buy a small box of wine to make a recipe every now and then and will drink the leftover glass or two. In the summer I feel a beer goes well with yard work but i buy a sixpack or two all summer and probably have leftovers come fall. Ocassionally I’ll go out and have a beer with people. All in all maybe $100-$200 a year but probably less

- Comment on Does anyone else feel like "analog" stuff is more "tangible"? 1 month ago:
Physical media does force you to interact with it differently and i do appreciate it in 2026. I like being able to put on an LP or cassette and not be worried about the algorithm telling me what to play or noy being able to easily skip tracks i don’t love. It makes me consider the album as a whole. I like being able to flip through my collection and find a record i haven’t heard in 10 years, that would never get suggestef by an algorithm.
I’m not sure I’d like using a type writer, seems like it real pain in the ass. I’ve used film as a kid and remember it being very fiddly even without doing any of the development myself. I know I ruined more than one roll of film being dumb.
That being said I do like digital devices that replicate that tactile analog feel. I love my remarkable tablet, its just an eink notebook/PDF reader. It helps me think out ideas and keeps me focused. Unlike a paper notebook if I lose it the data is saved to thr cloud. I chose a digital camera that had physical access to the main settings you would adjust, because i hate menu diving. Same with digital synths, get one with close to one function per knob.

100%. I think I did college every possible way (except ivy league). First two years at a small liberal arts college, left because tution went way up and scholarship stayed the same. Three yeara at a big univeraity, where i switched majors and graduated with a bunch of useless paper in time for the 2009 financial crisis. Never found a career and went back to community college for a focused degree. All had good and bad aspects but community college i thought was the best learning experience.
Part of that may have been due to already being loaded up on gen ed credits, so i could focus on just the degree classes. It was also the fact that the teachers were real people who had experience in the field rather than career academics.

Maybe look into a BC-250 build. Basically a binned PS5 chip but you can overclock it to make back some of the performance.
https://elektricm.github.io/amd-bc250-docs/
That or i got a fairly recent office PC that had an AMD 8700G and 32 GB of DDR5 on ebay for 400 bucks. Slapped in a 9060xt and its a sub 800 dollar build. Didn’t do enough research though and found out the 8700 only has 8 PCIE lanes even though bios and specs list x16. Oh well, it performs well enough for now.
- Comment on Do you preorder games? 2 months ago:
I used to a lot as a kid. It was pretty much the only way to get some more obscure games.
I pretty much stopped in the mid 2000s except for some collectors editions of games that I was 99% sure were going to be great Halo3, Fallout3, New Vegas etc. I still do the same thing now with the odd switch collectors edition xenoblade chronicles, the final fantasy pixel remasters, unicorn overlord but those were games I was 99% sure would be finished at launch.
The rest of the time I wait a year or so until the game is half priced and finished.

Wash once a week, replace as needed which is probably 10 years or so. Then they become dog towels.

They’ve gotten too much shit actually renamed though. Denali, Gulf of Mexico, sort of the Department of Defense, Institute of peace.
They aren’t gonna get anynone government contolled stuff renamed unless the owner is a real MAGA brown noser. The NFL isn’t gonna do shit he wants. The owners have hated him since the 80s.
- Comment on Do you cheat in video games? 3 months ago:
Not really, I don’t even know how you cheat in modern games. Retro games I’ll put in codes if they are built into the game but not game genie/ game shark codes.
I got no problem what you do in single player games though, you do you. I don’t play online multiplayer anymore but you suck if you cheat online.

- Comment on Uhhh... It's a work phone 3 months ago:
I got three different playa phones. One for each part-time shorty.
But I really have a work phone that they pay for because I am absolutely not putting any work shit on my phone. No teams, no outlook, no workday, no authenticators, no emergency alerts. I think a guy who got fired was using it as a playa phone or porn phone. My boss said his data use was always maxed out and everyone else used roughly 1-2 GB.
I only take it home on weekends on the rare case i want to check an email or request time off through workday. It does come in handy while camping/road tripping. I charge it up and turn it off then toss it in the glovebox as an emergency phone.
We used to have pagers as recently as 2022 which seems way more sketchy for the time but i miss them. Always worked, only got important notifications, smaller.

It also feels more about submission to me than a joke about homosexuality. When regular people hook up or are in a relationship it doesn’t seem like submissive act but between two powerful men it does.
- Comment on How bad is it really to listen to music with headphones? My mother told me if I keep doing that I'd go deaf... Is that fearmongering? 4 months ago:
What are you talking about. It has nothing to do with the speaker being too close to your ear, its because they were an awful design. Regular earbuds get the driver just as close and are still made, but arent very popular. The style has trended more towards in ear monitors because they seal your ear canal and get better bass. Due to the sealing IEMs are probably worse for your ears if you crank the volume but you probably don’t need to crank them as loud since they provide some passive noise cancellation.
