The name’s the game: e-pit-helium. So basically helium, but the pit/nucleus is made of a localized standing waves in the electric field.
Usually protons and neutrons form the center of an atom, with the protons providing an attractive force that keeps the electrons in orbit. This charge does not need to come from protons to form an atom though, even if it usually does. In the case of epithelium, it’s a standing wave in the electrical field. This only works for smaller atoms, like helium, though.
I’m talking out my butt if that’s not clear by now.

Her brother is entitled to preferring to spend time with his friends without his sister. I wouldn’t say it’s weird he hasn’t asked her to join.

You do have a point there. Media literacy should get a better focus during education.
However I don’t think its a fair comparison. The general public cannot currently be expected to have good media literacy, as long as there is no proper public education. I’m not aware of any public schools properly teaching media literacy during the general education (I mean before college), so a good chunk of the population, if not the majority, will never even stop to consider things like what kinda assumptions they made about an article.
It is something you can expect from someone who studied journalism though.
So if the goal of the journalist was good journalism, they should plan ahead and use clear language without any room for assumptions. If they use headlines like this it just seems like clickbait to me.
- Comment on Booking.com ignored me after my bedbug nightmare 1 week ago:
The thing I’m trying to get at: a good title shouldn’t leave room for assumptions, and I’m pretty sure this kinda stuff is being done just to make you click, not to provide good journalism.

The ambiguity of what exactly is meant by ‘nightmare’
- Comment on Booking.com ignored me after my bedbug nightmare 1 week ago:
Tbf, reading the headline I also assumed the author accidentally took them home. I’m pretty sure this ambiguity is on purpose, and should be frowned upon.

Why would that be an issue? Just use the distance glasses, and your good. Or do you need to constantly read the vehicle manual to drive?

Functionally, it was put back the way it was found. That person is not being paid enough to give a shit about aesthetics. So doing that IMO absolutely is going above and beyond.

depends on how exhausted I am already on that day, but honestly probably not. I try not to go above and beyond for my employer without some kind of agreed upon compensation but stuff like this I’d do right just for my own satisfaction

I’m German and went to the US for a year as a high school student.
My US history teacher literally told us that the US is the world police. Because of that I believe that many Americans think that way.

Its not a total scam, I know some couples who met on dating apps. However, be aware that as a man your choice is limited. There are about 10 men for every woman on dating apps.
It can work, but honestly I think its easier to get to know people when I’m out and about. This depends on how outgoing you are, though, of course.

- Comment on Why do some people hate drinking water? 2 months ago:
Absolutely agree. It ia horrible how our governments allow corporations to use that backdoor to extract as much shareholder value from us as possible
- Comment on Why do some people hate drinking water? 2 months ago:
Honestly not sure where to start with this one.
I’m sure the blanket statement of needing to drink 2 liters of water is misleading in plenty of situations but I really don’t think this is what we should be focusing on. This is the last thing from the food industry that I’d consider propaganda. Not to mention that it’s really not a bad recommendation, and a 50 year old book 2 people wrote (no matter their qualification) isn’t really a solid foundation for an argument like this.
Of course water intake is highly individual. Athletes may drink 10+ liters per day, but most people are probably fine with just drinking when they’re thirsty.
I don’t think anyone is saying that 2 liters are necessary for survival. You can get away with much less. The thing is, it’s easy to drink more than enough, it has many benefits, and there isn’t really much of a downside to it. The 2 liters are a rule of thumb, not an exact required amount for everyone.
Regarding the beer, we know nowadays there is no amount of alcohol that is healthy. Sure, beer might be able to hydrate you when enjoyed in moderation, but it’s plain counterproductive when recommended as a healthy diet.

Hmm, interesting point. Thanks for sharing.
- Comment on Why do some people hate drinking water? 2 months ago:
Basically they’re people who got caught in the food industries propaganda.
They might consciously know they need regular water, but their body is now craving sugar with every sip. If it’s missing, it feels wrong.
Sugar needs to be much more regulated, especially for kids… Adults may be responsible enough to handle it but without regulation the industry will run wild and make everyone addicted.

modern [microwaves] are prone to catch on fire
is a wild take that you better support with some kind of proof. Otherwise it just makes the rest of your (IMO valid) argument look bad.
